    Valve check?

Maybe a flash issue with the ECU? I don't remember when the latest flash was released. Maybe the dealer could tell you what flash you have, via the VIN #. You would think a stub shaft or crank sensor issue would always be there. With no codes, you would think nothing is out of wack within the...

    7000 went into neutral

Update on this. While I was waiting for parts, I got sidetracked and put this on the back burner. During my inspection, I felt a bit of a "dry bearing" feel on the jackshaft. The clutch side bearing was fine, but the wobble bearing felt a bit off. I noticed some pitting on the balls of the...

    7000 went into neutral

I'll look into the pads. On my '12 procross they didn't have the actuator gear detent/spring assembly to hold pressure on the gear. Only the actuator kept it in gear. I found it strange that with all that pressure it would do what it did. The bushing fits real good anyway. I ordered the shift...

    7000 went into neutral

Hey guys, 16 7000 with 12,500 miles, well maintained. I was tooling along a trail on a long stretch of 65-70 mph, and it went into neutral. No grinding, strange noises. Pulled over, removed left side panel, both clutches spinning at idle. Shut it off, restarted, gave it some throttle, moved as...

    24' Winders already being delivered

I don't think the procross will be going away anytime soon. Utility sleds, 4 strokes won't be using the catalyst in the short term, if ever, so if Cat keeps making those models, it will be procross

    It’s finally over for Yamaha

I was quite shocked when I heard about Yamaha quitting, though I've heard the rumors for a while. Most all of my riding buds are Yamaha guys, and they are a bit confused about their future sleds. I've always been a Cat guy, and felt real good about the 7000/Viper engine. As far as the Catalyst...

Valve shim - Now a miss

Can you throw the belt on it and run it? I have noticed on previous sleds that without the load, and at higher than usual rpms, they sometimes act strange. I was chasing a ghost one time for many hours, a buddy stopped by my garage, said to put the belt on, and it would sound normal. And it did...

    2025 Yamaha sled release

I would assume, not being an engineer, that there would be more to dropping a SXS engine in a sled, than just dropping it in and hooking it up. Sleds run at such a constant high rpm, that you would need a real engine company, such as Yamaha to get it right. Their decades of experience are hard...

    Cracked tunnel cooler?

Buy the yamaha rivets too, and buy more than they list. I bought 24 instead of 14 that I believe they called for.

    Cracked tunnel cooler?

I just did one on my 16, 7000. It was leaking on the track side, left top corner. Very small leak, only when above 140 degrees. Big job to change, not hard, but very tedious. Buy it from Partzilla, you'll save $$ Don't have to pull engine!

    2024 Yamaha snowmobile releases, March 14, 2023

I believe the T-Cat is in the 22k range. Here's the problem I see with the Catalyst chassis, the belt drive. How are they going to get a 4 stroke to back up? Can/will they design a chaincase for that chassis? I was a fan of the Diamond Drive that cat had in the 00's, once they updated it with...

    2024 Yamaha snowmobile releases, March 14, 2023

Yikes! the 7000 at $16,500 PLUS a $700 logistics surcharge, delivery, dealer set up, etc. Now you need a real windshield, no QS3 shocks, granted the stock IFP shocks do work good. Not like the Doo stock base shocks. I was going to look into upgrading this year, but not for that kind of hit...

    2024 Yamaha snowmobile releases, March 14, 2023

On the Cat side of the coin, the Catalyst is only a 2 stroke platform, so all 4 stroke Cat riders are also stuck with the older chassis ( not that it's a bad chassis). And until 2/28 we won't know if there will be any 4 strokes at all for Cat

Help: oil leak after on side

Wipe it up, check the oil level, don't overfill it, you'll be fine

    Cannot figure out Coolant Leak

I just watched hydrogens video, exactly where mine was dripping from, and only at 140 degrees and up. under that temp, it wouldn't leak.

    Cannot figure out Coolant Leak

I too had a exchanger leaking on my 16 7000. It was leaking on the top left corner, on the track side. Not where it was welded, but it was cracked ever so slightly. Cat had them back ordered, I found a Yamaha one through Partzilla for a very good price. Also bought the Yamaha rivets. It's quite...

    7000 misfire at idle

Well, due to lack of snow, I never got to test drive it locally. On blind faith, I loaded it up for a 4 hour drive for a 4 day ride, hoping for the best. The engine ran great, racked up about 800 miles. On a unrelated note, I did develop a small coolant leak somewhere, leaving some green snow...

    Valve check?

How did you do the tensioner, did you hold it in place, or remove it?

    7000 misfire at idle

After a summer of storage, I have the 7000 back in the garage. Took a fresh look at it, and found the issue. It was the injector harness. I was twisting and tugging on the harness, there are two junction blocks where wires are connected together. when I was messing around with them, I could...
