Dealer is correct, per Yamaha it’s only required every other oil change. However I always change them both together. Same with apex, nitro and winders . It’s definitely a lot harder if you have a skid plate too
I would start by lifting the front of the sled off and making sure it’s not binding anywhere. After that limited strap all the way down, then rear spring. Front shocks don’t make much difference in steering effort imo. I have an apex that was a nightmare to steer when I got it also. Skis may...
Injectors will not open if voltage is less than 12.5-12.8. Motor will spin over with less voltage. Replace the battery, they will not rebound from having low voltage unless it’s only been a few days. Plus if it dies on the trail it’s going to be a long day.
No I got bars, grips, heaters & isolators and installed myself. I don’t think they come preassembled, but it wasn’t too hard. There’s a good how to video on you tube by rsi
I have rsi bars and grips, both blue. They might be a tiny bit thinner but very close. Much better grip (so much grip I’ve torn 2 sets of gloves in 400 miles
Rocky Mountain Atv sells oem parts at a discount. New oem stator from Yamaha $256 Free shipping. I own a motorcycle repair shop. Aftermarket is a last resort, if you have to go that route use rmstator or rickystator
I had an old exhaust laying around but you could pick up a used one for less than 100 bucks. Spent another $30-40 on aluminum sheet and rivets.
Usually if you have an exhaust leak it will sound louder, popping and occasional backfire after a wot run are common also
I did it on an 06 apex, IMO it is too loud and drones a bit. I had to use Ear plugs under my helmet . I am currently running a yoshimura R1 muffler under tunnel. It sounds much better, not as loud but louder than stock. Plus considerably lighter, the only downside is its not a bolt on. Tunnel...
Looks like that coil has some pry marks on it, it was probly stuck i imagine. Make sure to inspect for cracks and replace the gaskets, they dry out from heat and age
Looks like water got in there and sat awhile. It's usually from the coil not being seated all the way in the head or the gasket on the upper coil failed. Ive pulled out quite a few that look like that in atvs
So this summer i decided i want to change a few things and it got out of hand( wife says it's a sickness can leave anything stock). So i built an undertunnel exhaust with an old yoshimura muffler i had from an R1. Found a nice used timbersled skid with floats and added billet wheels and a 2...
I would change the oil and filter, pull the tank and drain, flush and refill. Usually if you run the engine till it dies there it's very little fuel left in the bowls, and i bet what was left evaporated. I would try to start it with a shot of ether to the airbox and some fuel in the tank. If it...
It's probly the track. I had the same issue, i would go wide open from a dead stop and it would hit the rev limiter until i let off, i tried adjusting the skid, clutch weights and front shocks. Wouldn't lift the skis. Changed the track and problem solved. Stock maverick folds like a wet leaf
