My own two cents I like mine mounted to my ski's rather then my tunnel. Barn of Parts makes some cool brackets to mount onto the skis.

I would not use brake cleaner as it will wear out the seals. Use WD40 as your cleaner of choice. Then repack the wheel with Grease.

I'm guessing On a hardpacked trail the less lug you have the more traction you will have. The more contact area you have the more friction, the more traction you get. On somewhat loose material then more lug gives you more traction as it digs in and gets the snow under you to compress...

I put an SC10-II on my 96 Grand Touring Ski doo. The center to center measurement IMO is the same as the SC10 - 1 that was on it before. Or if you google it I bet you'll find some of my posts on the topic. I did not have a donor sled, the guy who sold me the skid quicky measured it for me...
