Well #*$&@!!
I was able to remove the TPS this morning but ended up with a wire pulled out of the harness.
What are my options here?
Me working on my own sleds hasn’t been working out too well lately. I seem to cause a new problem everytime…pretty deflating. Poor me….ha ha ha.
I just started looking into this sled’s issues so I haven’t dug into anything yet. Oil pressure sensor is underneath the motor on the port side correct?
This is the same machine I asked about the spindles as I am looking to change skis. Discovered the mounting bolts are seized so I’ll tackle them later. On to the next issue.
I replaced battery and solenoid last weekend. Even with new equipment, roughly 50 sec after starting, the gauge pod...
Is the tamper proof part the metal post I’m seeing? I have a torx set that would work 2.5 hrs away at home which doesn’t help today.
I’m hoping a solvent or cleaner of some sort will do the trick. My TPS troubles are inconsistent. Pops up after really cold nights when I rode the day before...
Looks like more shenanigans with the bolts holding the TPS in place. OEM is a Phillips pan head screw. These are not stock.
A TPS on Partzilla goes for $300 now.
My Vector needs a starter as well.
I’m getting kicked in the stones this winter!!
Finally had time to get into the Phazer. Discovered the previous owner had rounded out the lower aiir box Allen head. Super fun extracting that. Took care of it and removed the air box
How do you remove thenTPS?
Looks like a torx head but I can’t get anything to seat in there to get a grip...
Battery was brand new from the store. Duracell AGM. Have them in my Nytros and Phazer. Have been great. I topped it off before installing.
Just clicks with the jump pack as well.
It's the starter.....I'm just in denial......ha ha!!
Background: 2009 Vector I purchased last season always started but seemed weak/struggled to turnover on initial attempts. After a few tries motor turned over much easier/quicker and the sled would start in any temps.
This fall, I was able to start it in October. Same starting symptoms as in...
I was lucky to find and purchase a 2012 Nytro with the race front end late last spring. What kind of spindles are used? I ask because I’m looking to update skis and would like to know what mounting equipment to buy for fitment.
Thanks in advance.
I know this is an old thread but I've been fighting intermittent TPS issues wit my '15 Phazer the last couple seasons. Runs fine until I ride on a really cold night. TPS acts up the next day. Seems to be moisture related. I have the same results as you in diagnostics mode. On the snow it rides...
A Mountaintech a-arm kit stopped me from selling my Nytro due to terrible handling characteristics. I had turned my ski bumpers around, shimmed my skis, tried different ski models, and tweaked my suspension to no end. The new a-arms and change in geometry made the biggest difference.
If you are thinking about swapping out equipment, a set of Moutaintech a-arms would be a good investment for your machine. I was ready to sell my Nytro until I installed a 41+2 kit. Felt like a new machine overnight.
I bought an '09 RTX SE with this combo a few years ago and have run it since. No programmer.
It's got a cool throaty growl and barks nicely when you get on the throttle. I am on the trail quite a bit and the sound does get old. At mid rpms there is an incessant drone that fills your helmet. Ear...
I recently picked up a 2012 RTX w/ a race front end and had it out on the lake feeling things out. After 10 mins on it I'm really looking forward to getting it on the trails next season. One of the best parts was the sound of the exhaust. Throaty growl and not overwhelming at steady throttle and...
Update........if something was wrong with the clutch or whatever was keeping my speed down, it sorted itself out. Easily climbing to 90mph last weekend with out reaching WOT. It could have been the snow conditions the weekend I first rode it. Pretty loose/fluffy snow on the lake. The snow has...
I picked up an '09 Vector this winter looking for a smoother ride for my wife. The machine fits the bill in that sense but I'm curious about what I should expect performance wise. It seems like a dog to me BUT I primarily ride a Nytro or a '99 SRX so I'm not sure if it's a matter of me being...
To close this thread I'll share what I learned putting my Nytro back together.
Last season, I had an unloading mishap on a really cold evening in 2021. I couldn't get the Nytro to stay in reverse to get off the trailer, so I reaching across with my left hand to gain some leverage to pull the...
