    Took the 2 smokes out

Finally got out with junior this season. Got a whole 30+ miles in and the trails were great considering it's the end of March and snow was going fast. Glad I got my fix in for the season. Anyways, the 998 got no miles on it this season. I didn't want to risk an overheat but even that 800 has...

Why didn't Yamaha develop the original sno scoot more?

I have never seen one of these on the trail but have seen the astronomical prices they commanded about ten years ago. I also saw when they first came out and Yamaha had some fun videos of them pushing balls around. It's often called the first rider forward sled and it does look like it. The...

How exactly do you measure 1/8" toe out?

I've seen the 1/8" value states for ever but how people measure that is beyond me, but it usually states the following Pick two points and then subtract the values. You should get 1/8". Me being me and realize this is just a triangle and we are just measuring the height. Well that angle at...

Convinced the wife to go riding this season

And it's been like ten years since she last rode and swore off riding. This may or may not have been due to low snow conditions where I should have turned around. Junior convinced her to come riding on the lake this year so hopefully she will.make it to the trails. Anyways, we got three sleds...

    Ca skis and carbide length

So last year I picked up a set of used ca skis. They aren't the razors or the xpt's but an older less aggressive and came with a set of four inch carbides. Typically I run 8 or 10" carbides due to my stud qty and I figured I would need a longer set after taking it out but to my surprise the...

May want to check change driveshaft bearing

Found this on my brake caliper bearing. Rust at the 7 o'clock position. Roughly 6k on the clock and a 2019. The bearing looks dry because I blasted out all the grease looking for other rust spots.

Anyone decide to rebuild shocks themselves

I typically rebuild my shocks almost every year on my sled(s) or when they hit about 2k in mileage. It's roughly 60$ now for my iqs shocks(each) and $40 for the center. These seems like the transmissions vs engines of the mechanics world. Engines are fairly easy to rebuild but most people...

    Chassis torque values

-I have the manual in front of me- Does anyone have a blown out view of all the torque values for the chassis supports? I'm used to the old polaris manuals and they always had easy to read diagrams for torquing stuff. Now I just have to hunt through the manual and try and find the specific...

    How durable is the pb80?

Well I have went through my third team clean clutch in about 6000 miles. Two of them were north of 2k miles before they cracked and one went fast at 500 miles. I've been looking at the pb80 as I don't have the tapp cash but will keep my team secondary as that has been doing really well. I did...

    Blowing through fts

So I've had this problem most of the season and last year on my 2019 tcat. On square edges and some fast hits I absolutely blow through all my travel. It happens mostly on drive way approaches or when I try to skip over some bumps. I tried to fix it by getting a raptor triple rate spring but...

    Engine rebuild videos

Anyone see the latest partzilla videos? They pulled apart a yxz motor, essentially the same as the 998. Figured a few of us may benefit from this someday in the far off future. Didn't know about the flywheel puller.

    Clutch spring manuf preference?

Do you guys have a preference on clutch spring manufs? I was tending towards Dalton's as replacement but I have been looking at the speedwerx springs. I have read they are shorter but the lbs is the same.

Post tune atac defaulting to firm

Ran into this issue a few weeks ago. Got a 2019 tcat with atac and whenever I shut it off for a bit it defaults back to firm instead of where I left it at. Any idea of where I can change this? Also how do I set the rider 1 and 2, it's a 2019 but was flashed this year.

    Possible iac issue

Had a no start this morning. Brought relays in and heated up no dice. I have the Polaris on the fuel pump and getting one for the main. It would fire but not run. Gave it some gas and got it up to idling to about 1800 and held it there. If I let off it would idle down and die out. I got it...

    Ride lite

Think about picking on of these up as I want to keep juniors hands on the handle bars. Looking at the mogul masher version but I have a 2019 and from what I recall I don't have much real estate on the handle bars with my handguards. Where have people mounted them?

    Red necks and dirty hands

Anyone else watch Pete at all? One of the more entertaining YouTubers with good quips. Anyways they are doing a go fast 998 build, looks like it was a two beer job.
