    2014 Viper Bumper Bolt Sizes?

Anyone know the sizes of these screws/bolts? It looks like the two on the side may be self tappers? I tried to check the threads on the large bottom one with no luck. All three of these are missing on my sled and probably have been since I bought it. Never hit anything but I don't think the...

Positive Vibes for Jan 1 Trip

We actually stayed right by you in Rockland that same week, that was quite a storm they got as we were heading up! We got about 2 days of solid riding before it warmed up again. We have been heading up North for about 6 years or so and nearly each year we deal with the same headaches of hoping...

Positive Vibes for Jan 1 Trip

The forecast this time of year just always seems terrible. Something seems a bit different this year. We are supposed to head up to Munising on the 1st. Not sure if that's going to be the case. Fingers Crossed.

Strapping Tunnel for Driveshaft Circlips - TIGHT

Howdy, I've chatted with @cannondale27 on the side about this. 2014 ZR7000 here being refreshed after wobble bearing failure. Completely new chaincase, new bearings all around, BOP Repair bearing plus a ton of skid work. As others have mentioned I needed to strap my tunnel to get my clips on...

Upper Chaincase Bearing - Cato-strophic Failure

Yea checked with him with no luck. Not in a rush since it's the end of the season for me so I'll wait to see if something comes up.

Upper Chaincase Bearing - Cato-strophic Failure

What was odd was most of the metal went OUT. It was hard to notice until I started taking apart. Of course some metal came out and a few bearings but most of it was on the jackshaft side sitting on the frame.

Upper Chaincase Bearing - Cato-strophic Failure

This is where I'm at slightly. I think it's worth it to upgrade chains since they really aren't that expensive although they seem to be ok. The gears look pretty dang good. It would be pretty tough for those to get bent out of shape and they don't have any weird markings, all of their teeth etc...

Upper Chaincase Bearing - Cato-strophic Failure

Forgive my lack of knowledge but upgrading to a new Secondary wouldn't require a change with the primary, right? If I decided to stick with the 14' setup I could run an entire Yamaha chaincase with Yamaha gearing and Cat Jackshaft as long as mine is ok, right? Only confirming because the...

Upper Chaincase Bearing - Cato-strophic Failure

Also, do you know if the ZR and Viper chaincase are identical? From a drawing perspective they look the same but it seems that one of the chains may be 2 links longer? Only reason I'm asking is depending on who you're buying from Cat and Yam parts can be quite a bit different in price. Also may...

Upper Chaincase Bearing - Cato-strophic Failure

I've seen a few recommendations from others on this. Is there a good FAQ/thread you know of tackling the upgrade? I wouldn't think it's all completely plug and play.

Upper Chaincase Bearing - Cato-strophic Failure

Cover actually made it but there were several tabs already broken towards the top that I would have to silicone each time I re-installed. Sounds like those tabs breaking are pretty common with the incorrect torque so I had planned on replacing it anyways. Now will be the time!

Upper Chaincase Bearing - Cato-strophic Failure

Thanks for helping me realize I'm not alone. I was already planning on moving to dupont sliders for next season and idler wheels definitely need replaced.

Upper Chaincase Bearing - Cato-strophic Failure

Hey All! 2014 ZR7000 guy here. Has anyone seen a failure this extreme with the upper bearing? Unfortunately replacing this bearing wasn't on my radar (obviously is now.) I was right around the 7000 mile mark. Chaincase Oil was changed every other season. The reason I'm bringing this up to you...

Found a few Issues Last Night...trip scheduled for Dec. 26th

I'm betting my skid was cracked for our trip last year. I was confident with what they mentioned over the phone. It sounds like I should be in good hands!

Found a few Issues Last Night...trip scheduled for Dec. 26th

Good to hear, I figured there were a few out there. I'm not going to have a chance to fix it at home before we leave but called Pat's and it sounds like they can get me straightened out once we get up there.

Found a few Issues Last Night...trip scheduled for Dec. 26th

Hey all, Long time lurker first time poster on the forum. I actually have a 2014 ZR7000 but nearly everything translates to my sled. I have been a bit behind this year and didn't get to looking over my sled for our trip to the UP till last night. We are leaving on Dec. 26th so it's going to be...
