    Error Code 46 HELP

Some of the earlier models were pretty maxed out with just the stock gear. I would check with the Tech Manual to determine the spec or ask the dealer. Add up what you are tacking on and see if it will handle that size load. I can not remember any issues with the later models. Also, I...

    Error Code 46 HELP

I have never seen a disconnected 12 volt battery read 12.8 VDC. Maybe 12.2 or 12.3VDC. Your voltmeter may be off a bit. Anyway, if the resistance readings are bad at the stator connection, then the stator is bad. Sometimes the wires short into the engine case. Sometimes they short in the...

    Error Code 46 HELP

The Stator tests are described in the Tech Manual. You might do a little searching around to find that. But then again, if you are not up to speed on electrical testing, then I would suggest finding someone who is. It can save you a lot of time.

    Error Code 46 HELP

Start by load testing the battery. If it load tests O.K., then focus on the charging voltage. If the charging voltage is not 13.8 VDC+ then there is a charging problem. if it is O.K., then there may be a short someplace. Also, I once had a charging coil in the stator that was at first...

    Need help

No. If I recall correctly there is a charging circuit and and an ignition circuit in the stator. You can however, do resistance checks on each stator circuit. Test the stator, check all connections, inspect all wiring for chaffing, inspect ignition coils for arcing, measure all resistances on...

6 PSIG below spec would lean you down about 10 - 12%. That could cause significant problems. But performance wise, it would be just running lean versus sputtering. Typically sputtering is an electrical problem. I can not remember if there is a separate pressure regulator or not. It could be...

    Need help

If you bypassed TORS correctly, we can rule that out. Also, that would give you a code. I think you can remove the grommets and re-install the coils and look for the arcs in a darkened room. If the coils' resistance checks are O.K. when hot and they are not arcing, then they are not the...

    Quick question regarding backfiring???

Backfiring is most often casued by an exhaust leak, TORS activation or chaffed wiring, typically up buy the CPU.

    Quick question regarding backfiring???

87 Octane is best. More BTUs per liter. Use higher Octane and you are wasting money and will not get as good results. Higher octane fuels contain a lot of additives, which do not contain BTUs. Your sled does not need or run well with these additives.

To me,... Adjusting the throttle, is not real clear. There are a couple throttle adjustments that could be made. The Throttle Freeplay is the one he should be looking into. He is still getting Code 84. Personally I always try the simplest first. Adjusting the length of the throttle cable...

    Rx1 speedo question

The Speedo is notoriously high. Mine actualy has read 129 -130 mph once too. If you want a more accurate speedo, grind out a notch on the speedo's gear (on the Drive Shaft). Even after taking out a notch, you are still ~ 4-5% high. Two nothches ground out is ~ 3 - 4% to low. If you think you...

    Rx1 speedo question

Give Allen Ulmer a call. Start out with one of his clutch kits. Rebuild Primary Clutch (e.g. Inspect and replace as necessary, primary clutch sliders, rollers, roller bolts, bushings, etc.) New weights should come with Allen's Kit. Inspect Secondary and replace it's Spring, Sliders and...

06 nytro er code 84 pulling my hair out

Personally, ... I would try to properly adjust Throttle Freeplay before falling back on a TORS bypass. If you bypass TORS, and the problem goes away, you are still left with making the proper adjustment/replacing the switch, etc.. However, if you do make the proper throttle freeplay adjustment...

    Rx1 speedo question

Oh, ... I think you should be able to squeeze out a bit more than 103 MPH. But to get over 112, then I feel you have to really be set up for top end. I have been clocked by the PD at 109, and I had the tall windshield on at the time.

    03 RX1 issues

Take a look at you speedo's gear on the Drive shaft. Some folks have ground out a tooth or two to make the speedo more accurate. Also, if you are dropping off Max RPM in the powder, then you still have a problem (i.e. 9800 is not 10,200 - 10,400.) When was the last time the secondary...

    2003 RX1 sticks in Reverse

If the drive belt is squealing, you may need to adjust the deflection. If the sled is creeping at idle, you need an adjustment. If it is not creeping at idle, then until the belt has say 50 miles or so, do not let the sled idle very long while it is squealing. You may still overheat a spot on...

    Quick question regarding backfiring???

I would say you need to clean the carbs as well as ditch the old fuel. The pilot jets typically need a good "rodding out" to make sure they are clean. I attached some tips and a figure to go with them.

Loosen the lower bolts in the Control Rods to the point they are only screwed in about 5 turns, on both sides. Install the Suspension bolts and then tighten the lower control rod bolts. As you loosen these control rod bolts, the control rods are allowed to be longer, which will allow you to...

    2012 nytro rtx performance

I would stick with the stock OEM exhaust components, unless you go with a complete exhaust system replacement. Any performance increase you could possibly get would not be noticeable. And, ... that is if they actually fit.
