Time for new slides,. Dupont worth the money?

My Apex is a 2010 so it has the mono II rear skid and the stock slides last pretty well. I can get 1500 miles out of a set easily. I can get stock OEM slides shipped for $45. Or a set of DuPont slides for $140. I can buy 3 sets of OEM slides for the price of one set of DuPont slides. Is it...

PTO crank seal leaking oil best option for replacement

I believe we have sourced a seal that will work on eBay. We ordered two of them. Hopefully we can simply press the seal back in and be good to go.

PTO crank seal leaking oil best option for replacement

My buddy blew a belt last weekend. We didn't think much of it at the time. 50 miles later we noticed oil was coming from somewhere and getting on the clutches. We pulled the primary clutch and found belt cords all wrapped around the shaft and the seal was gone. I've done some searching and...

Need help with code 81, grip warmers not working.

I figured they wouldn’t get hot just sitting there idling. I was actually surprised that any heat came from them at all. In the past when my sled was idling my grips would still be ice cold so the fact that there was any warmth coming from them at all was an improvement. Yamaheater with boost is...

Who else rides a 2010 Apex?

The 2010 is a unique year from my understanding. Yamaha did a lot of improvements to the 2010 and then in 2011 totally redesigned the apex. I know my 2010 has the mono II and that is a huge improvement in durability over my previous 2006’s Mine is a base model 2010 Apex. Purchased it this year...

Need help with code 81, grip warmers not working.

I finished installing the new handwarmers yesterday. I fired the sled up and put them on high and within 5 minutes they started to get warm. I’m excited to see if they outperform the originals. My sled is a 2010 so it was supposed to have better handwarmers from the factory but they’ve sucked...

Anyone try this flange repair kit on eBay?

I installed this kit on a sled this fall. The most difficult part was making sure the replacement flanges were pressed onto the Y pipes exactly the same distance. I put the Y pipes in the freezer overnight and heated the new flanges and they were still very difficult to press together. Keep...

Need help with code 81, grip warmers not working.

when I set the meter to 200 and I touched the probes to a pair of metal scissors I get readings between 9 and 13. As soon as I take it off it goes to 1. That one stays right there when I touch it to the wires going to the grip. It does the same thing with both grips.

I know I have been resistant to do it simply because I've been a member for so long. I remember before a paid membership was a thing we all had access to everything. However this is the primary place I come for help whenever I need it so it wouldn't hurt me to give back some I guess...

Need help with code 81, grip warmers not working.

Thank you!! After examining the wires closely I figured those two had to be the ones. when I try to test them for ohms the only thing that comes up on my meter is the number one. when I touch the two probes to something metal I get a bunch of numbers and then it usually settles on a number...

Need help with code 81, grip warmers not working.

So I did a lot of searching and some reading and some trouble shooting. Friday while riding I suddenly got a code 81 and my grip warmers quit working. We had just gotten about 20 inches of powder snow so I had been in some fairly deep snow and the temperature was approximately 8 degrees...
