My Apex is a 2010 so it has the mono II rear skid and the stock slides last pretty well. I can get 1500 miles out of a set easily. I can get stock OEM slides shipped for $45. Or a set of DuPont slides for $140. I can buy 3 sets of OEM slides for the price of one set of DuPont slides. Is it...
My buddy blew a belt last weekend. We didn't think much of it at the time. 50 miles later we noticed oil was coming from somewhere and getting on the clutches. We pulled the primary clutch and found belt cords all wrapped around the shaft and the seal was gone. I've done some searching and...
I figured they wouldn’t get hot just sitting there idling. I was actually surprised that any heat came from them at all. In the past when my sled was idling my grips would still be ice cold so the fact that there was any warmth coming from them at all was an improvement.
Yamaheater with boost is...
The 2010 is a unique year from my understanding. Yamaha did a lot of improvements to the 2010 and then in 2011 totally redesigned the apex. I know my 2010 has the mono II and that is a huge improvement in durability over my previous 2006’s
Mine is a base model 2010 Apex. Purchased it this year...
I finished installing the new handwarmers yesterday. I fired the sled up and put them on high and within 5 minutes they started to get warm. I’m excited to see if they outperform the originals. My sled is a 2010 so it was supposed to have better handwarmers from the factory but they’ve sucked...
Thanks Rock, Thats exactly what I was seeing. Love your products!!! Just installed my starter saver and digging out my old trail jamz system to see if I can revive it. I got out of riding for about 5 years and I'm just getting back into it.
I installed this kit on a sled this fall. The most difficult part was making sure the replacement flanges were pressed onto the Y pipes exactly the same distance. I put the Y pipes in the freezer overnight and heated the new flanges and they were still very difficult to press together. Keep...
Kevin wasn't available when I called but the gentleman who I spoke with got me hooked up. I have new hand warmers and grips on the way. Anyone who has changed them before and has any advice I'm all ears.
Looks like I need number 2 and number 5 in this picture. I remember reading that they had updated the warmers. Will this get me the updated ones?? I would imagine it would.
when I set the meter to 200 and I touched the probes to a pair of metal scissors I get readings between 9 and 13. As soon as I take it off it goes to 1. That one stays right there when I touch it to the wires going to the grip. It does the same thing with both grips.
I know I have been resistant to do it simply because I've been a member for so long. I remember before a paid membership was a thing we all had access to everything. However this is the primary place I come for help whenever I need it so it wouldn't hurt me to give back some I guess...
Thank you!! After examining the wires closely I figured those two had to be the ones. when I try to test them for ohms the only thing that comes up on my meter is the number one. when I touch the two probes to something metal I get a bunch of numbers and then it usually settles on a number...
I know I've seen the answer to this question on the site before. But I'll be damned if I can find it right now. What color are the wires going to the grip warmers??
So im not much of an electrician but I do have a tester and I can usually figure out how to use it. Can you give me a quick explanation on how to check ohms on these?
So I did a lot of searching and some reading and some trouble shooting.
Friday while riding I suddenly got a code 81 and my grip warmers quit working. We had just gotten about 20 inches of powder snow so I had been in some fairly deep snow and the temperature was approximately 8 degrees...
