2014 Viper with ~4k miles. The movable sheave has some wear. I'm surprised with the lower miles but it's clearly wore. How much is enough to really affect the shift? This is my daughters sled so don't need top performance.
I see Hurricane offers a pump upgrade with a new regulator but it's not adjustable. They say it's good to 500hp and is designed to run at stock pressure. I don't follow the logic. What am I missing...
If the sensor is not reading it will go back to the default tune. If the sensor is reading but not accurate, there would be no programmatic way the tune would know without another source to go off of.
You'll be happy. I look at my runs at the bar sometimes just to see where things are at. You can save any part of a log as well so it is easy to look at later. For example... This year I couldn't remember where I ended on clutching last year... I just pulled up some of my logs of 1000' runs I...
If you do gap them to .020, tap them on something hard like steel and check and repeat. I gapped mine this year, but never had a misfire either at stock gap.
Glad to hear your sled is an easy fix!
Sorry to hear man. Might as well pull the plugs and check for compression. I don’t think you got the data logging. If not you may want to consider it in the future. It’s invaluable and I just like the confidence to know what is going on.
He is providing different grease and charging more. I put it in last night and 90% of the noise is gone. The question everyone has is if it’ll last. It’s easy enough to re-grease if it doesn’t.
100% agree on data logging. I just like the confidence it gives knowing everything is where it should be. It's also fun to look back at runs as you change performance parts. This year I couldn't remember where I left off for clutching so I just looked back at the last few runs from last year to...
300 tune with cai under hood. I run the cat grill with frog skin so maybe it would be a hair lower with no ice on the grill and no frog skin. Since the grill is always iced up without frog skin I figured I’d be better off overall with the frog skin.
I remember tomcat posting some numbers a couple years back. I think it was close to 20hp drop at 100 degrees. Don’t quote me though. I’m usually at ~80 degrees at the end of 1000’. I figure I’m losing 10 horse. They are so pricey I haven’t added one to mine.
Checking my clutches over and my primary rollers are showing heavy wear on the outer coating. The bushings are tight but I'm wondering if the roller itself should be replaced. I'll add a pic. These have around 6k miles.
