I have an 05 Vector and this happened to me when it was knew. Found out Yamaha runs straight antifreeze in them. I took some coolant out of the tank and put 50/50 antifreeze in and never have had my temp light come on again in low snow conditions. Over 13,000 miles on sled now.
Thank you for the verification! Sorry about the "vent tube" confusion. That sled was a friends Apex that had chaincase oil all over the place. I thought he had told me it came out a "vent tube".
That is for the standard without reverse.
It still doesn't tell you the amount for a machine with reverse. It is only showing "Standard". I'm telling you its 3oz for a machine with reverse. If people are putting in 8.5oz in a sled with reverse I think you risk blowing a seal from too...
That would put you at the standard line on the dipstick and way above the reverse line. So you don't have reverse? Or does the manual state 8.5oz with reverse? I think the manual may only show standard measurement? The dealer told me 7.5oz and didn't look at a book. That is why I am...
This is 3oz guys. Not 8.5 or 8. I drained it with the marking on the reverse side and there was 3oz in there. Filled it again to marking on reverse line. 3oz! Filling it to the standard line would be over filling and could cause a seal to blowout, right? My owner's manual doesn't give me...
Hello, I have a 2005 Vector ER and was wondering how much chaincase oil is needed? The dipstick has a reverse and standard marking on it. 3oz fill it to the reverse marking and i think 7oz or so to the standard marking. I have reverse. Dealer tells me fill to the standard marking and didnt...
I ran Hiflo oil filter and Honda HP4 cold climate 0-w30 last year. Used to run Maxima oil and K and N oil filter. Less expensive the Honda way and great quality! I believe Hiflo makes the K and N filters.
Let us know if you figure it out. Mine did that same thing last season. Haven't been on any wide open trails this year yet so don't know if it will act up or not. Over 10,000 miles on now. Could the stator cause this problem? Its not the carbs. I had those things cleaned 3 times last...
My 05 Vector does the same thing! And I'am carbed. Maybe there is something to using ring free. I will have to try it. Frustrating is right. Used to run perfect. Dealerships cleaned the carbs and no change. That is why I am trying to fix it on my own now. Don't want to pay for carb...
Hello, I took my rear axle out to grease my wheels. When I took the shafts off I didn't pay attention to which way the track adjusters go back in. They are both angled. Is one supposed to angle out and the other in? Or should both be straight when the axle is completely forward (loose)?
Could this also happen on an 05' Vector? Mine kinda does something like that but not all the time. It does start poorly. Over the past two years starting it has gotten worse. It doesn't "spring on" like it used too.
