That is a TON OF WORK ! But, i guess it's warranted when considering the price of a new one. And, this seems like an upgrade. Id rather have a sled like this, thats been massaged, than s new one anyways. Kudos!
They are a 1.25 pitch. The bolts I got from Gordon's hardware in Dekalb Illinois are only 4 inches long. I wished they were longer, but I got them to work. I was gonna weld some other bolts to them to increase the length. But didn't. I guess you could order some longer ones from FASTENAL...?
I just replaced my stator. As well as the starter, the starter "pinion" gear, one-way sprag clutch, flywheel, etc.... The bolts are 7's. We have a good hardware store here. I just the little bolts in and matched them up.
I’ll be digging into my 2013 Nytro next week. The stator has apparently gone south. I only measured 40 volts AC @3000 rpm. Gonna change the starter and sprag because I heard it squeaking twice before while trying to start. Should be fun....
I have never ridden a Sidewinder. I’d like to try one. I would like the power steering. I wished it came in a sportier looking package. Something in a 141 maybe? I don’t quite understand why they offer a 146 and a 141? Gonna have to do some research to see what the difference is....
Yup...BG 44k. I worked 16 years as a GM dealership mechanic. We had lots of valve stem carbon/gum-up issues in the late 80’s -early 90’s. The v6 in the Fiero and the inline 6 in the Jeep’s. Damn things wouldn’t start because of the intake valve deposits. BG 44k and/or walnut shell blasting was...
The Nytro is a good foundation to build a trail-weapon upon. Add some parts to alter the front geometry. Put a “different” rear suspension in the sled if you’d like. Some handlebars, etc, etc....
