Well, my original RS Nytro clutch finally hit 40K KM or about 24K miles. Basically, everything needs to be replaced and the shives are wearing so I decided to go with a new Power Bloc PB-80 model 1100-0222 primary clutch after reading Redbeard’s report on his Vec and Apex (thanks for that). The...
A buddy of mine lost his stater last year which is never convenient. This got me thinking: If my stater failed and I knew about it as soon as it happened, I would have a much better chance of making it out of the woods before the sled died!
My first thought was to build something that would...
I've installed a 136 mono out of a 2010 Apex into my 2006 RS-Nytro and have a couple of questions that someone out there might be able to answer for me:
1. How can I tell if I have a mono or mono 2? It has the rail mounted adjusters and no cross-shaft for the upper wheels to accommodate the...
Well, after 20K miles of a Proaction CK in an 06 Nytro, I've decided to update to a 136 Mono which I'll stretch to a 144. The donor sled is a 2010 Apex. I was originally looking for a skid from an 09 Vector LT because my neighbor has one and his tunnel looks identical to mine making it easy to...
Time to invest in a good charger and I decided to get an Optimate. The two that I'm trying to choose between are the 3+ and the 6. I was going to get the 3+ but I like the idea of being able to charge and maintain larger batteries with the 6.
So... I guess my question is, is the 6 too large...
Maybe someone can help me with adjusting my carb floats. I did a search but couldn't find what I'm looking for
The specs call for 16mm between the bottom of the float to the flange that the bowl mounts to. I found general information on taking this measurement but every example I could find...
I am going to solder my ground blocks before they have a chance to fail. I found great information on the location of these ground points for Apex's but couldn't find much on the Carbed Vector motors. I was able to find 3 locations (see pics). Does anyone know if there are any more?
I decided to replace all bearings and seals in my chain case. When installing the new seals, I realized that there is no lip for the seals to rest up against. You can actually push them right into the bearing. Can anyone give me the proper procedure for installing these seals?
I'm looking for information on an under-tunnel exhaust for my 06 Nytro (aka Vector). Mainly the right muffler to use that won't affect the engine performance or gas mileage. I tried the search but couldn't find what I was looking for.
Thanks!
I had this happen once last year and again yesterday. After about a mile at 8000 rpm, the engine would bog like I was running out of gas. When I let off for about 5 seconds, it came around and worked great for another mile and then did it again. Hard pulls corner to corner never gave me any...
Well, it's getting to be that time. With 13,000 miles, it's just a matter of time before the common high mileage things start to happen. Being the proactive (not pun here) type, I want to check and fix the know issues before I have to get towed home.
I'm looking for any input from anyone...
I just replaced my 6" stud boy deuce bars with 8" Bergstrom triples so I decided to check my toe. If I pull the tips together, I have about 1/8" of toe out but if I pull the back of the skis together, I have 7/8" toe out. This gives an average of 1/2" or so which is probably what I had for toe...
I just received my new Bergstrom Triple points. Ordered them last Monday and received them this Monday morning in NB Canada so no complaints there! They came with shims and 1/4" ski-savers. My question has to do with the spacers that enable you to widen or narrow your ski stance on the mountain...
I am running Wahl no-slip 9 tooth drivers installed 6-1/2" center to the chain case end and 4-1/2" center to the other end. (at least I assume they're installed at these measurements, I had my dealer install them and didn't check them afterwards other than laying the drive shaft/drivers into the...
I drive an 06 RS Nytro that has been stretched to a 144 so I thought that this would be the best place to ask about gas mileage. When my sled began life as a 121, I would average 18-20 MPG Canadian on the trail. Now, as a 144 and mountain skis, I'm seeing 15-16 MPG. Is this about what the RS...
I've installed TracksUSA 121" - 144" tipped up rail extensions and extro drivers and now I'm having a bit of an issue with track adjustment. I read on here that these extensions change the geometry of the skid and cause the track to tighten as it moves through its travel. So, to figure out how...
I'm about to get my Floats rebuilt. Has anyone shortened theirs with internal spacers? I thought I saw a thread on this a while back but I can't find it.
This is for an 06 Nytro
Brad
I stretched my 06 Nytro to 144" with a tipped up rail. This thing is a blast to drive! However, I need some advice on clutching and gearing from some of you guru's. When running on hard pack, I over-rev to about 9200 rpm at about 90mph and when I'm playing in powder, I can't get the revs over...
These have between 400 and 500 miles on them. It looks like the carbide fell off and the rest as they say is history. The wear pad in the front doesn't have a mark on it but about 1/4" is missing and the hard weld in the back is also in good shape. The bar is better than 1/2 wore in the center...
