Sorry, haven't been on in quite a while. Yes, I did use the stock cover. There is plenty of extra material stapled under the seat to expand over the extra foam and still leave plenty of space to re-staple it.

Pull the plugs and check the color of them, post a picture if you can. It sounds like you may be running a little rich.

Are you using a synthetic oil? If so, change to a conventional oil in 5W-30 or 10W-30. Do NOT use oil additives like Slick 50, Lucas, etc... because they will destroy your starter clutch quickly.

Check drive chain tension, secondary clutch parts and clutch alignment.

Your fuel mileage sounds about right, 120km (75 miles) to half a tank (5 gallons) is about 15mpg for us English folks (assuming you have a 10 gallon tank). How do the spark plugs looks, are they dark black? wet? fouled? It sounds like it's loading up with fuel when at low rpm's which could...

It should only be limiting the rpms to about 3500rpms or just below the clutch engagement. You could try and bypass the system temporarily to see if that is the problem but it sounds like a different electrical gremlin.
