My xtx has a lot of condensation inside the gauge pod. In cold weather, it freezes up making the display nearly unreadable. Any ideas on how to dry it out and keep it from coming back?
Yea- I got it done and I think it’s correct. Here’s my review-
1. Most of the components are either grey plastic or aluminum. In the Black and white installation photos, they look nearly identical.
2. There’s obviously been some updating to the product (which is good) but they haven’t updated...
im installing my star suspension into my 2012 xtx. I’m finding the instructions vague and difficult to follow. Does anybody have any pics of how the finished skid is SUPPOSED to look like before installing into the sled??
With the way Yamaha is shoving this sidewinder/viper down our throats, my money is on Yamaha getting out of the sled market and just being an engine supplier. They have a dismal market share and make no attempt to sell their flagship sled the Apex. It’s sad.
I went ahead and pulled it out so I could give it a good going thru. How did you get the lower bolt out for the front shock?? I had to drill a hole thru the bogey wheel so I could slide the bolt out. I can’t believe it was engineered this way
im going to do the star suspension upgrade to my 12 xtx. Any tips on how to best get it back in? Leave the tension off on the torsion springs until the skid is bolted in? Anything to look for while I have it out?

This pic speaks far more to the durability of my xtx than it does to my riding ability. Pushed her over back onto its track and rode her home! Still riding strong- 7000+ miles!
For those with the tuner skis, what carbides are you running and where do you have them positioned- inside or outside positions?
I have a 2012 Apex XTX with no studs. Recommendations? (And stop yourself from saying different skis)
