SideWinder BTX-LE and Viper BTX-LE Same features.

Funny thing when people make ASSumptions about what another person's occupation is .... Perhaps you can enlighten us as to your background before you cast aspersions ... I'm more than comfortable with mine .....

SideWinder BTX-LE and Viper BTX-LE Same features.

Not talking about icing / slushified snow but rather inability of air to flow across the cooler. Not to harp but the charge air cooler plays a very important role in development of power for turbo charged engines - especially in high strung "electronic" engines in which many variables are...

SideWinder BTX-LE and Viper BTX-LE Same features.

Considering that in powder the air intake vents on the rmk (which are by the steering post) can get blocked off, there's no way that the air cooler on the sidewinder won't. Just as it shows in Yamaha's own promo video (which I do not see as speculation) the snow has the cooler snuffed.... for...

SideWinder BTX-LE and Viper BTX-LE Same features.

Based on the promo video of the Sidewinder & Viper the air cooler of the sidewinder looks to be completely choked off ... look at the front of the sled ..... the cooler on the phazer was prone to getting blocked off in powder and that well back compared to the sidewinder. Should be a beaut of...

SideWinder BTX-LE and Viper BTX-LE Same features.

Curious re the air to air cooler ... looks like its pretty choked off in the video ....... positioning of it might be ok on trails but in powder it looks like its poorly positioned to get air flow ......

    2 strokes live!

VK isn't cheap either considering that its basically the same sled they've been building for 20 years! It's a work horse but outclassed by other utility sleds - Tundra / Expedition / Voyageur .... now if they had put the phazer engine in it and swapped it across the line into the bearcat / lynx...

    New 2017 Yamaha Sleds...

Cdn $ .... ouch! Picked up a 15 pro 800 holdover for list $ on the VK 540! Looks like a nice engine but it should be for the $$$$$$. Cdn site is very s l o w to load. Any weight drop for the mountain sled? Would like to try by for the $ doubtful if I'ld be in the market for a new one!

    New 2017 Yamaha Sleds...

Guess that's why the Nytro forum was always soooo quiet and full of glowing endorsements for the quality of the components. It was a nice engine in a lousy package. I would consider another Yamaha as long as its light, durable, doesn't break the bank and works right from the start. I have 2...

    New 2017 Yamaha Sleds...

Well I guess the poo engine goes in the garbage with the nytro chassis that sucked, the nytro front end that was weak and need ball joints each season or more often, the nytro suspension, hyfaxs after each ride, the too small tank, worn exhaust gaskets, and so on. 3000 km each on two pro 600's...

    New 2017 Yamaha Sleds...

Wow... imaging if you had to buy a car and spend money the same way on it to make it work properly .... nytro chassis was crap .... phazer was a step in the right direction and the Yamaha went backwards. Have just as many km on my pro as I did my nytro (loads more fun) and haven't had to spend...

    1993 Ovation Question & Help

They are pretty solid / cheap / warm. You will need to change to a plastic ski though - steel skis are horrible especially for kids. Skins are OK but best to doctor up a set of plastic one as they are lighter and much more forgiving. We had a few of these and swapped out the track for a 121"...

    Sno scoot

With a little work you can easily fit a pair of aftermarket plastic skis. The Kimpex ones work well and add loads of floatation - added them on two sports. The Kimpex ones are nice and light and plenty tough for a scoot / sport.

    Dzus fasteners-no more damn screws

Gotta love the genius who though that it would be a great idea to use three different types of fasteners on the side panels of the phazers!!!

    Mid-size sled

Good option - we used these the same way - added a 121 x 1.25" ripsaw + plastic skis which made a big difference.

    Yamaha boat engine

Had a Yamaha Exciter - 16" with 270 hp (2 135 triple 2S) was a hoot ... would like to see a new small sport boat with that engine - coupled to twin jets .. now have a BRP Sportster with the 155 and it pretty good too and much better on fuel but the single jet isn't as manoeuvrable or as much...

    Cable options for phazer

the phazer cables are all the same length ... need one a couple of inches longer .... will measure it and see if I can compare to Nytro / Apex / Vector / Viper. Any snow left on the west side ... was over for New Years and didn't bother to bring the sleds ....

    Cable options for phazer

Picked up a set pro taper bars on an MTX and need to extend the throttle cable. I have a powermadd extension kit but really not fussy about it - will any of the other throttle cables fit and give an extra 3" to 4" of cable length over stock? I know this isn't the Phazer forums but looking for a...

My wife would like to thank Yamaha...

Had a Pilot for years and really liked it - basically trouble free for 260000 km other than breaks at every 25000 km. Switched to a Lexus RX 330 - build quality was nowhere near as good as the Pilot. Now have a Mazda CX9 (needed 3rd row but didn't like the new Pilot body style). Ridgline...
