The wifes vector with the standard kayab shock setup and revalved rides great. Plush with no bottoming. Im sure the longer foot print helps some but its a set and forget setup that doesnt have the down time the ohlins does. I would think you could pick up one of those shocks cheap have it...
Sounds like the belt is a little tight causing the noise since it goes away with engagement and does not occur while riding. I know that sounds more like a squeal noise but everyone hears things different.
I experienced the same issue as stubby with my ohlins. Got tired of yearly failure losing rebound clicks requiring rebuild. Looking forward to trying the standard kayaba shock this season.
I agree with stubby. I have dealt with shocktec for rebuild and revalves great guy knows hes stuff. You will be lucky to get a season out of your ohlins before loosing your rebound adjustment which means the shock has leaked.
Bounce the sled up and down a couple times. Turn it clockwise till it bottoms then back it out. You should get 30 clicks. If not like the others have said time for a rebuild and revalve. I love the adjustability of this Shock but it needs rebuilding too often. I will be replacing mine in the off...
