Feedback - 24/50 vs 21/41 gearing (Stock Tune Only)

I have run both, and the more i ride the 24/50 with 1.6" Ice Cobra the more addicting this combo is. Corner to corner and the general "Pull Factor" of this combo is fantastic. The 21/41 has its benefits for high speed trail riding... its better up top (70+mph trail riding), and obviously has...

    Sidewinder VS 2-stroke

Lol.... I have lined up against Ski-Doo 850s, Apexs, Ctec2 Cat's with Jaws Pipe, PCV and the outcome is always the same. (Bone Stock SW) Ski-doo 850 from 50mph roll to 100mph, 3-5 Lengths. Ski-doo 850 from 20mph to 100mph, 5-7+ Lengths. Its not a race, BS if this guy got walked by a 850...

Anyone swapped their tuner 3s for Yamaha mtn skis?

Ive ran them on a few sleds now. 2018 Sidewinder LTX LE- 137x1.25" Unstudded 4" Round Bar Carbide- Very light steering, when running hard it would push a little when the snow was loose. Overall big improvement over Tuners. 6" Square Bar Carbides- Steering a bit heavier (Still less then Curves)...

best aftermarket ski for the sidewinder

Ive run Curve's and the Yamaha Mountain Skis on 17/18 Sidewinder L-TX LE 137s and now the SRX. This season im running the mountain skis, they're cheaper then the curves and have far less steering effort. The curves were slightly more precise and confident feeling but it came with the cost of...

    Thinking about..........jumping ship

Do you even own a sidewinder? Let alone a SRX? Sounds like you have done more reading about so called "SRX Problems" then actually riding one. "Super expensive computer controlled shocks that dont work"- BS these shocks flat out work, you find yourself adjusting them constantly throughout the...

    SideWinder XTX LE Skis

I was able to re-use the same mounting hardware that came with the tuners, the rubber block transferred over and if i recall i used the bolts too. I ran them at full width (spacers on outside of spindle), not sure about turning radius ill have to compare this year. As far as steering effort...

    SideWinder XTX LE Skis

I would highly recommend trying the MTN skis first. I ran a set of the Yamaha Mountain Skis last year on a 18 SW L-TX LE with 4" Round Bar for ~1500miles, then when we got to spring riding some road running killed those carbides so i switched to a 6" Woody's ACE square bar for another...

Full Season Review of Camso Storm 150 Track on SideWinder's

I also ran a Storm 150 on a Sidewinder 50th this season. The track itself works good as mentioned for traction and handling however the deal breaker for me was the added noise and vibration. This was also noted on a friends 18 800 ctec2 cat with a storm 150. The track howls on both sleds at...

    SRX vs TCAT pricing

Tcat does not have push button start...Only the AC 2 strokes get it. SRX gets a way nicer tunnel bag, blue powder-coated tunnel, coloured belly pan, coloured skis and way sharper graphics IMO. Id take those all day over a set of flimbsy handguards.

Studding an Apex X-TX (Front Tunnel Protectors?)

Performing a track swap to a 2017 Apex X-TX 1.75 to a 1.25" Studded. Making changes to drivers, however also noticed the front exchanger protectors are removed. Anyone stud a sled that originally came 1.75"?, Anyone add protectors to an X-TX?

POLL: What Skis are you running?

Looking through many threads i see there is a fairly diverse spread of what skis people are running, trying to plan what ski to run on a new Sidewinder LTX SE. So What skis are you running? Hopefully this thread/poll may act as a summary for others looking into aftermarket skis, and help to get...

Ride or Bust...Apex XTX rides terrible even with Star Kit.

Very nice looking set up! , are you running an on board compressor? Also are you running studs? If not does it look like there is adequate clearance between track and ex-up for studs?

Hmm the Venture style one is interesting swap, I was never blown away by the Mono on his attak, my uncle also has a vector ltx and it rides oook. Got to Demo a Polaris Pro-S Switchback, the ride was impressive. Actually a bit soft for my liking I had a couple big whoops feel like it was...

Ride or Bust...Apex XTX rides terrible even with Star Kit.

NS- One question for you: We run studs on all our sleds, I see the clearance is limited between the exhaust and the track do you think it's possible to run studs or will we need to lower the rear drop brackets ? Thanks for the input on the W2, he's reluctant to consider a track swap so the 144...

THANKS for the input ! Lots of great suggestion and input. That's the Sled he is thinking of if we go that route. This year is a bit of an anomaly as anywhere with snow has been bombarded with traffic beating the trails up. Typically we have days that are perfectly smooth and others that are...

If all the snow has melted off i will take some pictures of the skid. We installed it as per the Star instructions but could have missed something along the way.

Background: 2012 Apex XTX, 3000km owned it since 1000km. Star Rear Suspension Kit, Ohlins Front Shocks. Last season we constantly were trying new set-ups trying to find that happy medium from changing limiter settings, pre-load on springs, shock adjustment... This sled is my fathers sled, he...

    Curve Skis

I run them on my Cat's but also on my Fathers Apex XTX. With the EPS you can run a big carbide and the sled handles like it is on rails. We are running 7.5" Shaper Bars, 4" Leading Edges on Curve XS skis. The sled has ZERO darting, and very precise cornering. Previously he ran skidoo pilots...
