    New 2017 Yamaha Sleds...

That being said, they do sound badass. I just hope for something lighter weight and in the 170hp+ class n/a.

    New 2017 Yamaha Sleds...

It does makes more linear/smoothe torque. It's a more tractable power. It has a sizeable benefit for sportbikes, where there is direct drive transmission and good traction. But when applied to a snowsled drivetrain, a lot of those benefits will be minimized or possibly not noticeable. A CVT...

    New 2017 Yamaha Sleds...

I know a guy, who knows a fella, who used to walk another guys dog, that is a Yamaha engineer. He still didn't know anything about the 2017 Yamaha sleds. All resources exhausted. Sorry fellas.

2012 Yamaha sleds or lack of a dealerships

I think we will see some new stuff next year. I am not sure if it will be different enough though. Who else uses a chassis for 9 years? Only Yamaha.

I never thought id say it but xf1100 turbo

We are still open. We were helping out with a fundraiser for our local animal shelter that day. We have put it on the market, but we are in no huge rush to sell. We will still be running it as a lodge business until we turn the keys over to the next owner. Hope you stop in again sometime!

I never thought id say it but xf1100 turbo

Was really hoping for something a little less bad #*$&@ from cat. Seems I am running out of excuses to not own one. Boondocker with a meth kit for around 260-290 hp on pump fuel, $1900. 65lbs lighter in a more responsive chassis, priceless!

    Hello Yamaha, Anyone Home?

Except for the yzf engine. Very high strung, and requires a ton of top end maintainence to last. Now use some of the hi press di 2-stoke tech from the outboard segment in a 500 2-stroke twin and that would be a fun little sled.

    2012 Nypex?

Imo...Yamaha needs a new chassis. So did cat. Cat has done something about it. Yamaha has not. Looks like cat has used some r&d and tech from the sno pro chassis, ie. spindles/ front suspension. I am still waiting to see someone stuff a nytro motor into cat's sno pro chassis. I'd pay 15k for...

    2012 Nypex?

Hate to play devil's advocate, but....The 1100 turbo with a boondocker and meth kit is nothing short of amazing, and waaay cheaper than boosting a yamaha. Heard they knocked off 60-75lbs off the turbo in this new chassis. Can you say trail rocket? Don't get me wrong, I am a yamaha guy, but...

    Oil Tank Crack

Put a rubber washer in between the lower tank tab/mount and the bracket with the stud. Vibration causes the cracking issue.

Aftermarket gasket sets: yes or no?

I get yamaha parts at cost where I work at a yamaha dealer, and I still use cometic sets instead of yamaha. Quality is just as good, if not better and cheaper than yamaha at cost.

80 mile 2011 Apex test ride and comparison

Well, the demo ride I was going to go to this past weekend in Portage was cancelled. I still may have a chance to try the se and xtx before winter is over. When I do, I will post results. From now on I am going to post all "reviews" in the general yamaha discussion forum. Thanks for all...

If this isn't a "worthwhile" topic, why did you bother to reply to it? If I am not interested in a topic I don't reply to it.

2011 Apex Pricing ???? Yamaha is out to lunch

My .02 Apples to apples comparison. All prices retail 09 Apex gt $12,099 10 Apex gt $12,399 11 Apex se $14,949 Factor 2.5% increase like 09 to 10, brings price to $12,708 There is a 6-8 hp difference between 10 to 11 so.... Factor mods needed to make 10 equal to 11...

80 mile 2011 Apex test ride and comparison

Thanks. I am going to make a habit of doing "reviews" on all sleds that I get a chance to put some seat time on. There are alot of "reviews" on here, but honestly not alot of fair and objective ones, especially when it comes to non-yamaha sleds. I think some on here would like to hear about some...

    Ripsaw Vs. Cobra

In super hard pack the ripsaw may have an advantage, but that's it. The cobra works waaay better in chewed up corners and most trail conditions imo.

80 mile 2011 Apex test ride and comparison

All of the twin spar cats are remarkably flat handling and stable. They ride well and I like the seating position. The turbo feels heavy. It doesn't really push in the corners, but it likes to walk toward the outside of the corner. The turbo I rode was set up fairly stiff for a heavier rider...
