We have always used low compression pistons, Carillo rods, and or a head shim along with cam timing at high boost levels (15 plus). How much boost have you guys run with a completely stock motor? At what boost and also what octane and elevation? Just trying to acquire some information for a...
Yesssss, get a complete kit. There is enough frustration in a complete kit and anytime I have had customers buy partials they are almost as much money getting it going as if they had bought the whole kit from day 1. Powderlites stage II is a great kit if the one above is listed look into it. As...
Set up correctly the superchargers are really good. They just require a little more care and setup than the turbos. A lot of the turbo guys have really good out of the box setups and with our supercharger kits we add the RB3, the blowoff valve, and then spend some time seating the taper locks...
Have had really good luck with the RB3 as far as reliability, I just don't know if the stock injectors will deliver enough fuel for the stage 2 kit and I need a good base map.
I have a couple pretty good maps for Stage 2 Nytro. It has the head shim and cam timing change, but has poor throttle response and dies at throttle chop, also seems way lean on top....but has 100% fuel up there.
Any input would be awesome!
An exhaust leak could and will cause this problem. Also, what brand of AF gauge are you using? I have had very poor luck with the Innovate stuff and it never seems to work right. AEM is awesome.
Great kit. Great service. Mod sleds are always a work in progress and if you have built a few you know that. I have been happy with the kit and have made a few tweaks of my own. We offer customer service in the US for the kits as well.
Retorquing is not necesary and can be very harmfull. After a rebuild it is a good idea to re-check torque after running the engine through a couple heat cycles, but once the head bolt are torqued and achieve proper stretch, you could do more harm than good by torquing on them again.
choids:
She gets hot and the hifax melt onto the track clips and then onto your drivers. The drivers themselves look fine, but if you are boosted you need to get some Avids.
double a: I am not bashing, just giving my opinion. I have boosted Phazers and the guys that we boosted them for have not been happy. You have to do so much to make them viable. If you had a different front end and a new rear skid and a different track along with a turbo you would have a...
Sheetwright:
You need bigger injectors 450cc or more and an RB3 and you will be a LOT happier. I have set up all of my stage 2 superchargers like this with great results. Stock injectors you just start bouncing on the top end because of lack of fuel.
