Honestly the sidewinder is the first yamaha sled I have yet to touch except for exhaust. It has been phenomenal box stock in the mountains for me. My stock rollover has worked great. I did install a tether kill switch.
Things I want to do is a cold air intake as I do get some oil in airbox...
Crazy stuff. Knock on wood, I have had good luck with A Arms. I have bent the A Frame that the arms mount to but never an arm. Been on a viper since 14 and swtiched to a winder last season. Good luck with both except for the frame which I mentioned which was on the viper. Hit a rock pretty...
I think we are all just huge fans of Yamaha and want to see them win at all costs. They have been there before in the sled industry and they have potential to do it again. They need a good marketing team like the others have.
I purchased a Sidewinder MTX this year. Best sled I have owned to...
I have had the nytro mtx and viper mtx. I am now on a Sidewinder mtx 153. All my other sleds have been 162. I think a lot of what you are feeling is a difference in chassis. I hated my viper when I first got it being used to a nytro. Can't go back to a nytro now. Seems like you made a ton of...
Mine does not work either. I have accepted that any yamaha sled has some sort or hand warmer issue. My viper always had the left hand warmer cold, nytro was always cold. At least my Winder has both hands warm.
To me this does not look like a bent tunnel. If the tunnel was bent you would actually see it on the side of the tunnel. This looks like the running boards bending or the suspension bracket is giving way.
I have the AC tube running boards and tunnel supports on my viper mtx with no issue like...
Look for any air leaks, check your belt, do any clutching? I had to switch to the 8DN belt. RPM was all over the place with the 8JP. I blew up 3 8JP in first few weeks with sled. Switched to 8DN and I have not changed one in 3 seasons.
I have floats all the way around on my viper mtx turbo. First off I would get on the youtube and watch skinz shock therapy videos. Lots to be learned about setting up you suspension.
The key is getting the skid to carry the weight about 55-60 percent I find with you on it. Common...
I am on the fence for a 17 hold over MTX or an 18 MTX. Not a fan of the red for the LE but I want the shocks. Would prefer the blue/gray or the green/gray.
I run 80psi in front and 165 in evols. Center is 60 psi and 150 evol, rear is 120 psi and 180 in evol. This gets my sled carrying roughly 45% weight up front and 55% on the skid. Front end will feel lighter.
