Ya, not to high-jack, but where are you guys finding good deals on pre-filter material? So we can mod our own air box lids. Cheers

    Primary Clutch Failure

Not sure of your options from here. But if you are thinking of an aftermarket primary. I tried the the PB80 for my nytro xtx and really liked it. Simple to use, very quiet and performed just as good if not better than the stock yammie primary.

    Modded Nytro vs Viper

You likely could mod a Nytro to work very well. And since the resale value of the Nytro is going down faster than JB. There are some picking up Nytro's for around 5g's many of them with spares galore. Thrown in a few more G's and you got a very accomplished snowmobile. Could all be done for...

    broken torsion spring guide

Have a look at the 2013 XTX coil spring holders. I'm sure Yamaha has updated them again. This time with a steel cap colser to the spring over the top so you can't rotate them. Nor could a spring accidentally pop out of one of them.

    Canadians - Ball Joint Replcement

Don't forget you also need the 2 collars, top and bottom if you are going from a 2008-09 ball joint to the 2010-11 updated ones.

    handling problem?

It's always good to check stuff over. Same thing happened to my 08 model. After 3000 miles I couldn't take one hand off the bars going down a road. Almost flipped it once adjusting my visor. It was the plastic arm bushings and crappy lower ball joints Yamaha used back then. Cheers

    handling problem?

Off topic, oh well. I had a batch made up for a few of our group. I still have some, how many do you want? PM me.

    Time to upgrade...

You must be looking at it wrong. Look at how many seasons you rode and take off approx $1500 for each year. Then you get close to what your sled is really worth. Anything higher than that is a bonus. Kinda like a cheap rental.

    Time to upgrade...

I really like my Nytro. Still on the fence if I should sell it or let the wife ride it. There is no reason that I couldn't keep it. Other than Yamaha should have some new cool stuff coming down the pipeline soon enough.

    Time to upgrade...

Rode them last year so I know what I'm into. The 2013 I picked up was a good deal. Hard to resist. Vipers seem way expensive in my zone.

    Time to upgrade...

Going to try out Doo for a couple seasons. XS 800 etec R-motion, light sled. Waiting for Viper to get a year or so sorted. Would also like to see if the rumors are true about 5 new Yamaha engines over the next few years.

    Time to upgrade...

Well it's time to move on to something new. My 09 xtx has served me well. Never once did it leave me stranded on a trail. Will miss all the fun I had wrenching on it. But most of all the motor. All the extras I have for Nytro will be up for sale here on TY soon. Cheers

    panel vent kit?

Vent each side panel behind the front shocks. Cools clutch and belt on left and cools oil tank on right. The vent that made the most impact were a hole on each side right behind the radiator. I pulled the tuning fork emblems off and used a hole saw perfect spot. Had a temp gauge and watched...

Hurricane set up for Nytro xtx

Same type (brand) they use on the new Indy 600, but for a Nytro. Before everyone calls me a traitor... What could possibly be wrong with a Yamaha primary? Not much really. The PB80 is quiet, really easy to tune, smooth from early engagement to top and is cut better for closer to overdrive...
