You are describing a fuel problem. Put a pressure gauge on it. You are running out fuel under heavy load or wide open throttle. Fuel pump or pressure regulator or not enough fuel in tank.
I went with Ulmer's air box and fuel and ignition modules. My opinion is it was the best investment I made. Significant increase in performance. Enough increase to stay even with the yamaha chargers that were tuned on the dyno and beat them.
I think thor is correct. Check the hose again. You are not getting suction. The line is fine when cold but when it gets hot it expands and does not hold suction most likely. This is especially true if it gets hot or gets porous from old age.
Switch to #35 chain and regular go kart racing clutch. All else fits. Did this a number of years ago. I put a cam in it with the racing valve springs and cut the head slightly. At 165# I could ride it in the grass in the summer. Radar at 48 mph but it could clearly handle any gear for more top end.
I have a Ballistic also that is a 405 I think. It is in a none supercharged Apex. It has started it at -20 just by turning the gauges on for 30 seconds or so three times.
Clean out the brass body that the idle screw is in. Do not change the four screws on top as those balance the cylinders. Take everything else apart and clean as thoroughly as you can. I used acetone. You can also search on this site and I think it is talked about elsewhere.
These are generator motors.Buy a generator and take the motor out and use that if you want totally stock look. I did 170cc with cam and valve springs and drilled out muffler. Ran out of gear on radar at 47mph.
You still need to soften, lower the rear end. The mega at stock has no bottom out protection so I would still do the Hygear mod to eliminate that potential problem and revalve to her weight. That would give you a lot more flexibility, save possibly having to buy a new mega if it bottoms out...
Get the Hygear mega modification and set to their specs for her weight. Probably will be at about 150# of air. Get the HYgear Dual pressure kit for the fronts, Set the shocks at about 60# and the res at about 125# as I remember. Front lower arms should be about level. If there is still darting...
