custom running boards

Hi guys. I'm planning on making a set of running boards for my 09 nytro. I'm a pipe welder by trade. I plan on making them out of 3/4" alluminium pipe. Does anyone have a suggestion of how to bend the pipe without collapsing the back side. Would a hand conduit bender do the job? Trying to do...
