Original battery was fine for 3 years & last year when it went dead I replaced with new battery from yamaha & now this one keeps draining down, has anyone had this happen or is this just another bad battery?

disconnect the negative on the battery and see if it goes dead with a test meter. if it does the batt is cooked.

if it does not you have a execcive draw on your sled. i personally have no clue as to what it might be but i know on cars you pull fuses untill the excessive draw goes away on the amp metre.

You may need to charge it with an optimate III or battery minder charger.

i am having the same problem with my 04 warrior, thought i had another bad battery, but maybe there more going on.

Well, I'll tell you one thing about the 03's... the stock battery is virtually indestructible. I treat mine VERY badly - I've NEVER charged it during off season. Just last weekend I went to the machine to start it up and check that everything's all good, hasn't been touched since APRIL, and it had PLENTY of power to suck the bottom few drops of gas up from a nearly empty gas tank and start the engine up.

I would have to say that if there is a problem with the battery draining itself, then there is something weird going on.

You may want to take the battery to a dealer and get a load test. They can tell you exactly what condition it is in. It has to be charged and set for a while first. Then, if the battery is good, I suspect that you may have a short in one of the sled's wiring circuits. Not a short to ground. But a short to another wire that makes up a circuit that has some resistance in it.

If the current drain is very low, you could put a multi-meter with a current range in the + circuit at the battery and then start wiggling wires, etc. Watch the meter and look for change related to what you are wiggling. If the current is too high for the meter, you'll need a multi-meter with a current probe (donut). You could also trobleshoot the same way with the battery out of the circuit and using an ohm meter.

Disconnect the negative terminal on the battery. Put an amp meter between the battery neg terminal and the neg wire. With the sled shut off, you should get zero drain, if you get a drain you have a wiring issue/short. If not, then it is the battery.

Also, Check the charging voltage. Be sure your sled isn't it isn't over charging which will kill your battery. Also, charge the battery with a 1 to 1.5 amp auto charger. Once fully charged, then let the battery sit for a week and try and start with it. If flat, bad battery.
