Hey guys. A fellow on CL has some studs at a great price. I have been wanting to stud my track since I got my sled a few years ago but never really looked into it.

Can someone please tell me if I have the original track from these pics? From what I am reading the original is a 1" lug, I think that is what I have, if so these studs would work

these are the best pics I could find that show the track

My sled is at my cabin so I cant look for sure

See my same reply to ya on HCS.

It appears as though you have a Ripsaw track, which if I'm remembering correct is NOT what came on them.

The 1st year RX1 had more of what was called a "finger" track. Its lugs look more like round pegs or fingers.

Anyhow, the Ripsaw is a 1 1/4" track and in my opinion is a great trail track. So, the studs you're looking at need to be at minimum 1 1/4" long, which will just extend above the lugs. Basically only the carbide tip.

Ideally, you'll want 1.325" studs. This will give ya 1/4" of penetration, which is perfect for trail riding.

I have 1.25 on my one Vector, and 1.325 on my other 2 Vectors and my Apex. The 1.25 is suffice except on glare ice. Then it's just not quite enough penetration. It helps, but just doesn't have the bite like the other 3 machines with 1.325"

Also, 1.4" is the absolute maximum length you can use or they won't clear the front heat exchanger, especially at high speeds when the track starts to balloon.

X2 as that is not the factory track that was offered on the 03 RX-1 and concur with theCATman that you are running a 1.25" Ripsaw track; not the newer style Ripsaw II though. I also agree with his studding recommendations as well.

x3 on the ripsaw. no reccomendation on the studs as i do not run them.
