Don't quite know what to look at next, went to start it up to change oil and put it away for the summer and it was missing on the #2 cylinder, but has spark. I took all the coils off and saw some arcing was going and and removed the metal bands around the coils (as I previously read that eliminated the arcing). Switched coils around and still no luck, it has spark. I pulled the carbs and cleaned the pilots and still no luck. The spark plug seems a bit richer, but not completly wet or fouled as I tried several plugs with the same result. The only thing I didn't look at was the fuel screw. Can it become plugged or overly rich? And lastly, could it just suddenly become out of sync with the other carbs and just need to be re-syncronized? It does seem to run fine when stabbing the throttle at idle with no hesitation and the miss isn't as apparent when brought up off idle. Very strange as it was fine the last ride a month ago.

I have run into this problem also, and i found a spider nest in the vaccum/breather tube on that carburator. Next thing to check, is the rubber sleeve that is under the cap. Check for pinching or tears. Have also had the carbs apart 2 or 3 times due to missing dirt in the pilot jets.

Will look into that, I wouldn't think the rubber boot on top would be the issue, as they've not been apart for a few months now. Very stange, I'd say it acts like its not getting fuel, definitly not a wet plug, but doesn't look lean at all. Kind of like it's not even getting enough fuel to fire.

What about WOT if it fires then I would think it was a pluggeed pilot jet nbecause at WOT it runs on a different circuit.

Haven't done WOT just sitting in garage up to 4000 engagement rpms it smooths out some and is responsive enough I believe it's just a pilot jet issue....Will pull out and clean again and see what happens. I don't think it could really be anything else. It's definitly just the #2 piston not firing, when I unplug the coil, no change/drop in rpm. All the others drop rpm when unplugging the coils.

Well, I pulled the carbs again, cleaned the pilot jet again and put all back on with the filters off and started it up. The #2 carb has gas bubbling up out of the needle/seat and flooding the carb compared to the others. What is causing this? Float sticking? Yep, the needle was hanging up for some reason, must have had some crap binding it up, pulled it out cleaned it and purrs like a kitten now. Noticed all my floats are around 10 mm when measured as the book says, but they're all the same so I'm leaving well enough alone.
