I have been trying to figure out this issue since i got the sled last year. when i nail it she stumbles, kinda like a dead spot or cutting out. I know it is not the TORS system. i have cleaned the carbs three times and try leaning it out with 130 mains. made it a little worst if anything. both fuel pumps are working but one seems to put out a little less volume than the other. not enough fuel? would the coils cause such a dead spot that the 03's are known for? i am stumped!! i dont have the $ to start replacing everything.

Maybe you needed to jet the mains up, not down.

i was kinda thinking the same. i still want to try the "dark room" coil test later to see if they are putting on a light show.

Ya, I've been there with my ATV. I was sure I was too rich, but was actually short on fuel. In my case adding fuel was the ticket. Maybe your issue is the same? Good luck and report back if you solved it.

If I remember correctly, Yamaha had an update on the float level. Stock was 13mm and they changed it to 15mm. You may be running the bowls out of fuel.
Check the fuel screen/filter inside the tank. I would put the 135 jets back in and make sure the carb boots are seated and sealed correctly. I doubt its the arcing if it only does it at that certain point.

Or even try 137.5 or 140 mains.
Have you tryed to sync the carbs? Having them apart that many times, they might be out of wack. Also, what about plugs? Have you changed them recently? Is it fresh gas in it? If you need help syncing the carbs and you live close by, I am in wisconsin, I can bring my sync tool over or bring the sled to my house. All of these posts are good sugestions. Keep us informed with all the help.on this site you will get it running right. Hope this helps.

Have not tried to sync the carbs. Thank you for the offer to stop out and help but i am in michigan. I put my stock jets back in and check my coils for arcing, sure enough they all lite up. i cleaned them up and applied dielectric grease. it helped but they are still lighting up. it ran better as well. i think i am going to try to save the coils or replace them with a set for a 05. the air box is a pain to get it to seal!! that might be some of it. but i am gaining, it hit 10k on the tach for the first time since i have owned it. -------side note; i am new to the forum and so far everyone on here is very helpful! i love my yamahas!!

Update- I pulled my coils off, cleaned them again. i also wraped the body of the coil with eletrical tape just for the fun of it. NO MORE LIGHT SHOW!! ......for now. lol
Its not 100% but i am close. I think my air box is the suspect. The top lid seems to not seal correctly. On to the next!
