Hey guys, new to the forum. Ive done some research but no luck when it comes to a stock RX1 with only the primary and secondary springs replaced...
My 03 RX1 with reverse is Bone stock, I've noticed that being a carb setup it has quite a lag when you go to pin it, like under revs then takes off. Now Im told that is due to the clutching and if I change the primary spring it will get rid of the under rev lag. does anyone have any experience with the Rx1 and its clutching setup? I do not want to lose any top end, and I dont really want to do a clutch kit because of stories ive heard. I like it to be reliable and still pull good mph up top, I go on long trips with it, cant afford to break down. the sled tops at 9800rpm and will climb to 10,200 rpm, but the odd time is a lil lower, guessing due to the conditions. is there anyway I can get rid of the under rev when you go to pin it and still have a reliable trouble free sled, just by changing the primary and secondary springs?
any info would be greatly appreciated, thanks guys!

I don't know what stories you heard that would keep you from clutching it. I have clutched every sled that I have had including the RX1. The RX was good enough to run with XP's and top end them. I had a Heavy Hitter set up and still pulled 125 speedo on top. Never a reliability issue. Still have that kit in my toolbox.

I had great success with the ulmer racing kit I had on my 05 warrior. The kit is still on that sled and going strong. Allen really had that kit dialled in on the rx sleds. One thing though, you must be honest about your riding style with him and the mods you have done or plan to do soon. My kit was take out of the box, install and ride. Others have had to do minor adjustments but was usually in the ball park when sent.
