Just bought a new 05 warrior in a crate. Been reading up on this site about the warriors in general as I am coming off of a 04 RX-1. Lots of people have had the warriors overheat on them. Was wondering if the people who put on the rear heat exchangers were happy with the results they achieved? Did it stop the overheating and did you have any problems with the heat exchanger?

Problems - no.

I have studs so needed to manufacture a protector for it.

Problems - Nothing major after 3 seasons

Overheating? - never (no cooler)

If you do any amount of off trail riding, put RX-Mountain skis on it.

Happy with my 05. Overheating hasn't been an issue since I drained out the 100% antifreeze mix and replaced it with 60 40.

thanks for the replys, I think I will just check the anti freeze and make sure it is 60-40 and try that.

No cooler on mine, but planning on putting one in. You'll likely get away with just changing the coolant to 60-40, unless you ride in marginal or really hard packed conditions. I start early and go late and have had issues on icy trails and low snow conditions on lakes, while liquid 2-smokes have no problems........the cooers going in this summer so I can ride 2 or 3 extra weekends a year. Don't forget to make up a protector if you do put it in as yammie don't make one for warrior.

mine over heated all the time and yes i changed the coolant. then added the rear cooler and got better but im doing a rad beside the chaincase.

over heating

Well, had my warrior out in my yard when it was 60 degrees and it only took one spin around my yard probably 350 feet to get the overheat light on. I think I will add the cooler and change the anit freeze to 60-40. I do not want any problems with this sled in the middle of winter. If I do not have studs will i have to put the protector on??
