We have a 06 Apex RTX that we Speed Run in the winter and Drag race in The Summer on the Asphault. It has a free air kit, Hauck Exhaust & fuel exelerator, Whal Ice suspension and Camoplast 9811 track with 144 picks. The gears are 25/38 1.52 with a 70 chain. Engine RPM is 10,800-11,000. The best so for in 1000' is 113.86 MPH on ice and in the Summer is 6.58 @ 103 MPH in the 1/8 Mile. The gearing in the summer is a 1.90.
My Questions is we are thinking of going to 26/38 for 1.46 gear ratio to get more MPH out of it in the 1000' is this the way to go?

23/38 gearing is what you want for 1000ft.....possibly even 22/38.....
IMO you are geared way too tall for short runs with a naturally aspirated motor.

We had a 25/40 gear in the sled and we could only get 106-108 out of it that is why we tried the 25/38 it went to 112 this last weekend I tried a different clutch set up both primary and seconday and picked it up to 113.86.

most here found they run higher top speeds with 23/38 over the stock 24/38 gearing, especially in short runs...
Id be running Dalton DPYR weights, they work well for me.

I agree with 22/38 or 23/40 works the best. You are not shift out all the way. 22/38 will get you 114mph topped out. You are geared way to tall for a 1000ft. 23/40 would be the one I would try.
