06 Rage - slider wear

The Poo and Doo wheels are only 2.5mm lower than the stock wheels. I don't think there is much of a difference between lowering your stock wheels 2mm or using the over-sized Poo/Doo wheels.

for the hyfax wear i went here http://pioneerperformance.net/ and ordered the wheel spacer kit part # P-S124 and put in on in about 1/2 hour. the kit lowers the stock idler wheels 2mm that basicly eliminated all the hyfax wear i had; 3 sets in 1600 miles. i like this set up because it uses the stock size idler wheels instead of oversized polaris, kimpex or ski doo wheels. i also have the SLP anti wear pads on and after 400 miles now with this set up i have had no visible hyfax wear.


the wheel spacer kit at pioneer perfromance web site is under the "rear suspension" tab on the left, then scroll about halfway down. i then called them at 716-496-8800 and ordered the kit and it was on my door about 5 days later.

no real difference except with the polaris wheels ect some have had to modifiy the mounting bracket so the wheels did not rub on the track guides. Also there have been some reports of the rails cracking while using the larger wheels, where with the pioneer kit the new bracket provides some bracing for the rails.

I don't know if I am just lucky or what, but I have 3800 miles on my Rage, and have never lost any idler wheels or have I had any problems with excessive hyfax wear. When my sled was brand new, I installed the SLP wear pads,and then replaced my hyfax at 2800 miles, and they would have gone another 1000 without any problems. This year I pulled all the wheels and greased them. When I replaced the hyfax, I used Super
slippery slides, and last month in the black hills, I ran 107 on a loose snow trail. Thats not bad considering I push 300 on the bathroom scale. I will admitt, I do very little riding in marginal snow conditions.

I have 5800 miles on the original hyfax with the slp wear pads.
My hyfax wore down to just under the wear line and haven't moved/worn any for at least 3000 miles.
