Hey guys,

I just put my first 150 miles on, and I think I am in love! I just wanted to ask you opinions on the suspension setup for the 06 RTX. I'm 5'11, 190lbs, and was just curious what you guys would recommend for settings on the floats and rear shock?

I am coming off an old yamaha exciter where you used to be able to just whip your #*$&@ around in a corner and punch it, whereas I've already noticed I'm going to need to change to a more punch it into a corner, brake hard, turn, punch it out of the corner. I don't really like the front end lifting i'm getting with exiting a corner, nor like the lift when I turn going into a corner(with throttle closed).

Thanks!

Without knowing your weight and style, I can only give you what my setup was. About 60 to 70 psi in the floats (more if you have air resse's.) The first thing for the rear would be to adjust your set it. I would go on the stiffer side of the range as the ice buildup WILL add more than you think. The rebound (RA dial) is again, rider dependent. Just set it at min (soft) and increase as needed. Just keep in mind that it's 85% rebound and 15% compression. So cranking it up to attempt to stiffen the shocks compression will likely make it worse as the shock may not have enough time to fully rebound for the next hit. This essentially beats the shock down until the travel remaining is very little. The front limiter and rear transfer rod are the main things to adjust with a stock RA mono. If you have wider skis (slydog, USI's, etc.) you can pull (shorten) the front limiter up two holes. Set the transfer rod between min and std. this will reduce the ski lift the most, however you will be sacrificing weight transfer and "hook-up". The benefit is that it will able you to drift the rear around corners. If your rear shock is stock you should really consider sending it out for a revalve during a low in the season it will do wonders.
