are any of you 06 owners with mono shock rub issue that is on the apex is also on the vector, just from adjusting my track i have shock rub marks on it, idk how true this is but ive heard that the wheels (the top ones mounted to the tunnel) on the 05 rx-1 are about a 1/2 inch bigger than ours are this years to stop the studds from hitting the tunnel but now is causing the shock to rub the track tearing chucks out of it.
im just wondering how many of yous are having this issue, because i have only 0.2miles on the odo from adjusting the track and o have rub marks from the shock all the way around the track. i need to know what to do. thanks im starting to think twice about this

On your '05??? Something's wrong of broken IMO. Better take a closer look. That should not be an issue with the ProAction skid that came on the '05 Vector. Just been surfacing on the Mono suspension, and as far as I've heard, Apex models.

I did take a close look and had the dealer look at it as well. There is nothing broken, but chunks out of the inside middle of track missing.

Strange on an '05. What was your dealer's conclusion as to what was hitting the track causing the damage?

They said that nothing appears to be rubbing and I should keep an eye on it and see if it gets worse.

Wonder if some foreign object just got inside your track and got caught.

- None, looking now!
Check the bottom of your transfer rod. I to thought it was the shick, but it is actually the transfer rod rubbing now and then. Look at the spanner nut for signs of wear. The rubber will smoth the aluminum.

I've got 1700 mi. and no rubs , how ever i,ve found a LARGE ice chunk on the mono-shock absorber more than a couple of times the next morining after coming in from the trail & lake after riding . It takes a screwdriver and a hammer to remove it ! Can't help but wonder what that would do all day long if not removed before a day of riding bouncing around in there !

I agree with Doc. I have 1500km on my 06 vector gt sled (about 1000miles) and no signs of rubbing however I have noticed it builds up a tremendous amount of snow and ice in the suspension that mostly turns to ice by morning. It is especially bad in the area of the shoch attachment and there is very little room here for any material so it would rub until it wears off in the mornings. I have got in the habit of cleaning it daily like Doc says and yes it does not come off easily.
