Hello All
My 07 RTX has 5000 miles.
This last ride I checked the chaincase oil and found it just wetting the bottom of the stick. Guess I caught it in time because it was fine after that including long hard lake runs.
I have a 4 yr bumper to bumper YES and I want to get the max value. After this season I'll be giving her a thorough inspection and getting everything possible fixed.
Here are some questions.
1) How can I tell if I have the updated chaincase? Mine is now seeping slowly from the upper bearing.
2) Regardless of what the maintenance schedule says - What should I be looking closely at? I've already done the donuts and y pipes (last season) and I know its time for plugs but what else?
3) Under the YES warrentee should I expect to get all new drive train bearings if I can demonstrate mine are done?
4) Under the YES warrentee should I expect new suspension bushings if I can demonstrate mine are done?
Just looking for some advice and knowledge backup before I discuss this with the dealer who happens to be many miles from me.

I'm in Canada. My dealer does work extremely well with Yamaha. Probably the best IMO.

Its hard to say if they will replace bearings and bushings or if they will consider them "wear items" Its surprising what they consider to be normal wear items. I blew a motor on a new xc 600 once and my polaris dealer told me that polaris considered pistions to be wear items. Just the same as break pads... I laughed... That was the last polaris I ever owned..

Pistons and rings technically are wear items, Not supposed to be incidiarey or exploding though. Those wear items also ceased my poo ownership.

Whats the sense in paying for the extra engine warranty. The don't cover re nicasil on the cylinders and they dont cover pistons and rings.. I would assume that crank bearings are wear items too then.. So what do they cover?? My "wear item pistons" wore out in 600 miles when the sled granaded, with polaris ves oil and premium pump gas in it. I was running at about 5000 rpms and about 55mph on a trail... I can't figure out what I could have done to cause this "wear item" to "wear out" in 600 miles...
Well anyway, don't have to worry about that anymore, until my wifes xc needs a top end... I guess I better replace the pistons and rings when I do the break pads... Probably all wear out at the same time... LOL... ..
