I just purchased on 07 phazer. (It has a new starter installed) when i turn the key to the on position everything works, guages fuel injection etc, however when you turn the key more to engauge the starter nothing happens. no noise what so ever. Will not turn over. If I leave the key in the on position for about 1 minute then try to turn it over it works. Can't figure this one out. The problem happend while the machine was stored outside. since then its been in a heated shop. I have checked all the electrical in the shop nothing is wet or loose. it fires up in the shop without delay. As soon as I take it outside and leave it in the cold for an hour it wont go unless i leave key in forward position for 1 minute. Then it fires up nicely. Whats with the delay?
Because of realy cold weather and injesting snow the resulting steam has created condensation in my starter silinoid and mine acts very similar to what your describing. I pulled it out left it on the heater over night (it appears to be a sealed unit) put it back in works fine but soon as it gets cold again, no work, have to keep turning key till it breaks loose.
