So with the continue disappointment in the next yamaha sleds Ive decided to just throw some money at the one I got. I have a really good shape 2008 RTX and i trully love it. i addex a MCX 190 kit and now im doing a XTX conversion. After some more reading i found that the XTX rear brackets i have wont just "bolt up" as 2008 has a different tunnel. can anyone help me, pictures would be great thanks.
- how does an xtx skid mount?
-same front mont for rtx and xtx?
-im guessing i drill out all the factory plates and mock these up?

Why not just extend it with a skid relocate and rail extension (or just rail extensions) I extended my 08 RTX to a 136" with a 4" skid relocate and 4"rail extensions from Tracks USA. Tracks USA also sells a 12" extension with a tip up design similar to the 144" XTX rails. I have a set of relocate plates for the 08 tunnel if needed.
I wouldn't say it can't be done but adding those drop brackets to a 08 tunnel will take a lot of fabrication. The 08 tunnel is a lot deeper than the XTX tunnel.

What grizz said. Just extend it, because of the deeper tunnel of the 08 it will be the simplest route. We have a fx 08 with 136 extensions and an rtx with the tip up 12 in extension set back 3 inches to accommodate a 151 track I had laying around. Both are a very nice setup. The rtx is my favorite.

Yeah just extend it. I bought my 08' already extended with Tracks USA 144" (12" 6 degree) tipped up rail extensions. I then had the RTX skid shocks custom valved and re-freshed by Schmidt Bros, added Hygear torsion spring spacers, made my own 4th wheel kit, and I couldn't be happier how the sled rides and handles.
