I just snowchecked apex rtx. I keep reading about y pipes cracking an donuts going. How many miles should i get on my sled before this stuff starts to go. And the suspension I ride groomed trails in eastern ontario Bancroft area . I weigh 220 lbs what if any upgrades should I do before hitting the snow next year? I am just reading alot about bogey wheel and shock problems too . I hope some of these issues will be straighten out by 09. no matter what i am converting to yamaha from ski doo next yaer

Just ride and see how it feels before you make any adjustments. One thing I would change for sure is put a 13mm swaybar from Pioneer Performance.

don't worry about exhauset dounots untill about 4000 miles and if anyone says i think your sled is getting louder (cause you wont notice) take the steps to at least check them no worries for at least 3500 miles

Wrong,,Mine went at 2700 miles and at 4600 miles

Depends on the sled, from most i read is about 6000 miles, but i know some guys don't have problem's with them yet and they have 12,000 miles on there sled.

exhaust

I just changed a y pipe and donuts on my freinds 06 apex er that has the crap beat out of it and it has 13000km. Still pulls like the day it was new and doesnt burn oil.

I have a 07 rtx and the first thing you need to look at is changing the orginal carbides to a pair of dolley's. It will depend on how you are going to studd the track to the length of carbide you will need, in my case I'm using 6 inch dolley carbides and 120 studs seems to suit me fine.
As far as any other change put a few miles on it to loosen the machine up then start trying to set your susp. adjustment, it will take you a far bit of time to tweak it.
Good luck

Revalve the shocks -- just do it before you even pick it up. See the thread --http://www.ty4stroke.com/viewtopic.php?t=56313

... of the many suspension adjustments - up one hole (shorter) on the straps makes a BIG difference.

~ 1,100 miles - everthing is good, just need snow.
