I am looking to upgrade my track and from what I've read on here it seems like the 1.75 makes the nytro xtx a whole new sled, which is exciting. I'm looking for a track that is going to hook up well on the trail as well as perform in the deep snow.

I consider myself a true crossover rider. There are weekends that I will ride only backcountry but there are weekends where I'll only ride trails. Is this track the answer or will I suffer on the trail? How about in low snow conditions, does it still get enough bite to keep the sled cool? I do have scratchers when required.

Just looking for more feedback about this track on the trail. Any help is greatly appreciated. Thanks!

I sold my 09 xtx this fall and bought a 1.75 for a good price. I really don't notice any difference on the trail but off trail it's definitely a different animal, for the better. I did notice a loss of top end speed but is not necessary to ride WOT. I'd say go for it. I'd put extroverts and gear down as they 1.75 is.

I just put a 1.75 backcountry on this fall and the difference is amazing. It hooks up really good on trail (dont have any offtrail time yet this year because of all the rain we have had. From what I have heard it makes a huge difference offtrail as well.

When I installed mine, I removed tunnel protectors, dropped to 20 tooth gearing and added scratchers and also Excell wheels. I almost wish I had put in extroverts but I dont think your really need them on an xtx. An Rtx I would def put them in. Some people adding rear exchangers as well with the backcountry track but I am going to try mine without them first.

This is the way all xtx's should have came. I love mine so far.

I took my bro's 09 XTX with 1.75" for a ride the other night and i was super impressed with it.

didn't notice the length over my short track and it bridge the bumps so nice

loved how the track hooked up on the trails and it was mint going across the lake

1.75 inch with scratchers works out great all winter on all trails. Just don't forget to lift the scratchers if you hit any substantial muddy or gravel section in the spring. We do have a rear heat exchanger also.

1.75 works great on and off trail those weekends that you only ride backcountry you will be very happy. I geared down this year to a 19 top gear most will tell you to drop one or two with the bigger track

The backcountry track makes it a completely different sled to ride offtrail. I've got a rtx and it"ll go threw more snow than my dads xtx now. I also got 12000 km out of the track before i had to replace the only downside was it really hurt the top end.

Thanks for the responses guys, sounds like it wont greatly hurt the trail riding capabilities of this sled.

Why not consider the 1.5 Crossover? Lot's of meat and cheaper...

Backcountry all the way. Have had it on my XTX 3 seasons now and i would not want anything less. It will out perform any 1.5" or less track in every way except top speed. If you are a true crossover rider then you will not regret it. Everyone that I let ride my sled loves the bite!

I really like the backcountry on my xtx. I usually can't get the back end to slide though. In the corners it has so much traction it will just lift the skis. Haven't tried it with zero transfer but set up the way I have it, it can be a bit of a pain at times. For me though its the perfect track. I've never had a ripsaw on my nyto so I can't compare that way.

I've been rocking a 2" challenger this year on my XTX and absolutely love it! With the torque of these machines, you almost need to try to get it stuck. Mine has gotten through chest deep snow without even blinking!

Go with the 1.75 Backcountry and install the extrovert drivers. I have 2 seasons (7,500 miles) on my 2010 XTX with this setup and it is incredible. I ran the first year without the extrovert drivers and I did occasionally ratchet. Installed the drivers the second season and not ratcheted since. I don't run scratchers and have had no issues with over heating. I bought a new Ski Doo 2014 BackcountryX 800 and I've got to tell you the Yamaha with the backcountry track will be the sled I take into the deep powder backcountry. It is a better setup!

I love my back country and extrovert drivers
