My break side headlight is very very dim, the otherwise works just fine. The bad light does not have hi-beam either. Replaced the builds and check the headlight fuse - can't figure out the problem, don't see any weak or broken wires - any ideas??? Is there a headlight relay???

I'm told on automobiles the problem is typically a poor grounding wire on the affected headlight - given all the headlight wires are so tightly wrapped in tape etc perhaps I need a new wire assembly. Anyone know what the wire harenss part number is - from the Yamaha parts cateloge it looks like it might be 8GC-82386-00 but I'm not entirely sure?? If I wanted to test the ground idea, which terminal on the light bulb is the ground????

Has your Phazer had the ground wire update?

Maybe instead of buying a new sub-harness you could go with a set of HIDs. The ones I have only use one headlight plug. You could plug them into the good one.

Both lights share common wiring until the headlight sub-harness. If one light is working fine then your problem is there.
I would remove that part of the wiring and inspect it thoroughly. The plug is small & triangular with a yellow, green and black wire. Just follow the harness back from the bulb till you find it.
I have seen the plugs on the back of headlight bulb get damaged from the heat before too.
