1000' Testing today

With the same 8jp belt?

In acceleration which one had the edge till top end qay or dtay?

8jp belt on both.

They ran basically side by side as long as they both hooked up the same. Even switched riders back and forth with there being 75+ pounds in the difference and they still were side by side bottom to top.

Have never seen two stock sleds this close let alone 2 tuned ones but it is what it is...

75# difference and they were same speed? Hate to be skeptical, but even in speed running sleds (and various other racing venues) weight can have a huge impact on top speed. There's a reason horse jockeys are little.
Again, not trying to be a jerk. And thanks for posting the info.

Jockeys are riding 1 horsepower not 280

I found it strange too as my cousin and I have bought the same sleds several times over the years and he always goes by me on top end because he is lighter.

I suspect in different conditions with a better hookup at the start a lighter rider would make the difference but in this loose snow we were side by side and top end was the same but perhaps if we ran a longer distance the lighter rider might get a couple more mph. Like I said, it is what it is...

Agreeded, and top speed which IMO is way more than 1000 feet, say 2000-3000 feet top speed is effected more by drag from big people not being able to drop down closer to hide as much of them as they can,and sled set up for speed, syspension etc, driver weight on bare ice has little effect vrs interference off things like lg.bodies sitting up to high overly lg windshields, sticky slides etc,i have done loads of top speed testing for years and years on all sorts of sleds, the type of sled makes a huge difference and track conditions yet even more, that snowy track was not perfect conditions at all. And like I said 1000 feet, thats a long drag strip not top end running,sorry..

Ok, so......I guess I'll ask the question no one wants to.

119 in 1000' is that a big deal?

Comparing apples to apples or vendor to vendor. Is this not what's being done by others?

On 91 pump without any cocktail of octane booster or race fuel mix on a full trail setup I think it is respectable!

68gmc,
infact to have two equal sleds running side by side is a feat in itself. Rider & slight clutch work being the only difference.
I was just wondering if other members utilizing other products are achieving similar results.

Seems to be quite in here.

I just didn't know how outstanding it is?

Congratulations!

That gauge reflash is sick. Very interesting stuff for sure! Be nice if we could have Precision EFI on as a vendor so we could learn more!

They have approached me as well as some that wanted to sell their product and none of them followed thru. Maybe we are not worth it.. I cant make them all sign on but I can keep an eye on those trying to gather sales behind the scenes and abuse the system. That being said I am only trying to keep the good advertisers here and that in turn keeps the site up and basically free.

Ok Staggs, ya got me there. My point was weight has an impact, especially in distance as Pete pointed out. My fat #*$&@ at the Weinie roast went 119 in 1000 ft last year, while the normal driver (think horse jockey size) went 123. Same sled and set up.
Regardless, 119 in 1000 ft for 68gmc here is pretty damn good.

All you can do!

I get what you’re saying. My experience has been the higher the horsepower the less effect. When I used to do more racing I was on 2 stroke triples in the 140 to 170 hp range. I’m a bigger guy so I did the wrenching and tuning and my bud would drive instead of me when he was available. The difference between us was noticeable. On my Viper at 250ish hp the difference back to back between us was practically nothing.
