What are the differences/improvements between the 12mm and the 13mm?
What would everyone recommend for aggressive trail riding?
Does the 13mm make the steering any heavier?
Thanks!

i got the 13 and i noticed it is harder to pull the sled over for aggressive powder riding. but for trail riding it handles corners like its on rails. p.s. i have an 07' attak

I found that upgrading from the stock 11 mm bar to the 13 mm bar from Pioneer noticeably improved handling. My Apex does corner flatter. It doesn't affect steering effort at all. The only downside is that it can more effectively transfer bumps from one ski to the other, which can in turn make for a little more chatter on a rough trail. This can be seen mostly in railing around a rutted-up corner, but I haven't found that to be distracting in any way. IMHO the trade-off has a pretty negligible downside. I did have the option of the 12mm bar, of course, but especially at this point, I'm glad I didn't make that compromise.
I rode the sled several hundred miles with that bar out in West Yellowstone on trails that almost never had less than 6 inches of fresh snow. Obviously, if one is going to ride mostly in the steep and deep, a stiffer bar could adversely affect handling, but the Apex would rarely be the first choice of anyone who does that kind of riding regularly. For groomed trail riding, where the Apex really shines, the 13 mm bar is the way to go IMHO.

My buddy has a nytro with the 12mm bar and i dont feel that its enough.. I have used a 13mm bar on my last 3 four strokes and love it.. THe handling difference is HUGE.. I really dont feel there are any down sides.. i have tried the 11 and 13mm bars back to back and no doubt the 11mm bar wont be in my sled ever again..

If you stricktly ride GROOMED trails go 13mm...you'll realy notice it if you OFF trail or try to carve in powder well thats another thing she will NOT want to cooperate, I realy like mine and back off your front shocks spring preload to near zero or in your case lower your AIR pressure and you'll love the handling...

Do you need to get new arms or will the 13 mm bar fit in the stock arms on a 08 Apex gt?

The 13mm bar is a drop-in. No new parts needed. The ends of the 13mm bar are exactly the same diameter and knurling as the stock bar and therefrore uses existing arms and links. It's about a 15 minute job.meklke said:Do you need to get new arms or will the 13 mm bar fit in the stock arms on a 08 Apex gt?

the only sled that you need the links for is the first year rx1. The rest after that have them.
when you take out the 11, it makes a good upgrade for the vectors.
