Installing a new battery in a 18 sidewinder mtx 162. When i pulled the old battery bracket off there was a small black wire not connected hidden under the harness going forward. There is a red wire about the same size that was connected to the + side of the battery. Does anyone know what this wire is used for? It's part of the factory harness, not an accessory. I looked at a 15 viper and it has the same wire and it's connected??

My 17 sidewinder has the small ground (black wire) hooked up to the negative on the battery.

It’s probably for the accessory fuse leads. Follow it up, it should go to a fuse holder with dead end wires.
