Yes 2 or 3 hp is not much but it just might the difference of beating your buddy by half a length. They are well worth the money and If yamaha is putting them in the new phazer they are learning from this site as well.

Bottom line; if you can gain 2-3 HP with a simple spark plug change it's a no brainer :ORC

the EK has two electrodes and the EX has a booster gap.

I'm going to run my sled on the grass in 2 weeks. I'm going go change my plugs and oil tomorrow night. I just ran the sled a week ago. I'll let you know if I see a difference in performance.
