Stock for stock I used to trade wins with a good running F7. We ran many times. That was in 2003 when they both came out. Since then with the mods I have I pull most F7's hard. There is still one I haven't beat with a 100lb female driver and very well set up. I haven't raced her since I put my T-cat skid in so I really want to run again but with her weight advantage it will still be a challenge. I go around 180. The most fun I had was two years ago when I ran against some guys I had never met before with 3 F7's, a twin piped Sabercat and a twin piped ZR900 in a couple of races and pulled them all field racing. The Sabercat and ZR9 came back for more with the same results.

Burmad69 My point was stock for stock the Cat will smoke any RX, I could care less who wins, at the end of the day I want the most dependable sled to carry my fat a$$ out of the woods. That's why I don't do any mods. or own a Cat. Bottom line all stock F-7's have handed this "SMART GUY" his a$$.

I agree with you on reliability of the yammys Ive been riding them since 1970 with the occasional other brand thrown in, However I also own a 99 ZR600 that is by far more fun to ride and just as comfy as my RX it just lacks a whole lot of power. My stepson has 5 Cats and my son has 2 I have one and they have no more problems than my RX.

All 3 of the other brands have let me down, 88 cat cooked the engine, 94 580 XLT Crank, 98 FZ670 Crank. moral of the story 4 strokes are better than 2!!
Your right about the ZR's they handled awesome and rode nice.

My two 98 ZR 600 LEs were the best handling sleds I have owned. And, I have had several in 35 years with ACat. But, after the third long walk out of the woods, I gave up on them (two cranks, one with a new case and a another failure of piston ring locating pin causing a top end replacement). Then I found a badly bashed "extra" 3/8" flat washer in the transmission of the T-660 that never had the cover off from the factory. It took them 7 months to fess up and finally fix it (replaced everything, case and all except the chain). Then when they did finally fix it, they left me with a chain that had 1 turn of adjustment left. That was it for me, in spite of how well the ZRs handled. I sold the ACat Fleet. That "extra washer" deal and they way they handled it is all it takes to keep me from trying a new Jag.

my friend has a f7 , maybe an 06 (not sure ) you can see my mods in my sig.
We are pretty much the same , some times he gets me off the line , sometimes I get him .Whoever gets out first stays there , he cant catch me and I cant catch him . Neither of us are studded . I rode his and it feels faster but as I said they are pretty much the same till he mods his .

Ok, 2 hours ago, I ran a Clutched F-7 with a Boondocker fuel box on it.. My 04 Warrior beat him by 6 or 7 sled lengths easily in 660' on snow..
The F7 had a 1 3/8 track, the Warrior 1 1/2 track..

My best friend bought a F7 w/ Team graphics. It has a D&D clutch kit init. The sled has the diamond act drive so when we hit the trials trogether we will find out . I already know I am in for a whoopin, but how bad yet has been determined. His ZR900 eats me alive. The only mods I have are the bender can exhaust which i took off last year and reinstalled it this year. I know it improves my mid range. Time is brewing.........

RX1ton you might be surprized with the outcome on that run,When Cat went to the diamond drive it slowed them down you have to put in the clutch kit just to be in the same race as an 03. If you watch the grass drag circuit you will see alot of firecats with new plastic on an 03 chassis, they are the fastest.
