2003 vs 2004 rx1 skid difference

hey guys my front shock on my 2003 skid is junk. I see kimpex has a replacement for the 2004. The stock part numbers from Yamaha are different so I’m concerned that 2004 shocks won’t fit my 03.
I thought the changes didn’t come till 05.
Can anyone confirm if the 2004 shocks will fit a 2003?

not as far as i recall. did your stocker have an aluminum body? if it did it is rebuildable.

I was going to rebuild it but the rod was welded back together after a crash, yes I said welded lol.

been there and done that on a olins for the front of an sx viper. found the shaft bent after when it broke for the 2nd time.
