The ride will leave from the Beausejour super 8 at aprox 10 am each morning

just so everyone has some idea what to expect each day probably about 9:30
am.The number to book rooms at the super 8 is (1-204-268-9050) specify you
are with the yamaha ride. The 24th ride will go through the whiteshell
area,The 25th ride will go through bird lake area(probably the longest ride
of the weekend). The 26th will go onto the south end of lake winnipeg(weather
and ice permitting)The 27th events have not yet been set.I have a conference
room booked for the evenings of the 24th and 25th for group bs sessions. As of this date there are aprox. 30 confirmed riders.
Season trail permits will be $100.00 canadian and 7-day passes will be

Sledster(Thomas) ...try to make it for a day or 2 out west. I will show ya wicked powder & unreal smooth hardly travelled trails!

Matt. I am booking off work for the 23rd on I could take a few extra days earlier if nec to make it worthwhile for you or you could get hooked up with turk after the ride for a few days out west. He isn't kidding it is some good riding.Let me know if I can be of any help.

Spoke to my better half last night and got the approval nod (I primed her at the pub with a couple of beers first). I will show up a little early and see who else makes it. I will probably fly into Minneapolis on either the 19th or the 20th. Looking forward to seeing everyone, and riding those awesome trails.

:rocks: There is 6 in my group comming, already have rooms. Is it best to buy the permits when we get there, or order before hand? Is there anything we should be prepaired for when crossing the boarder?
TURK: We definatly will be comming west for a couple of days. ;)!

Sno passes before dec 1st will be 70.00 for a season pass. no discount for 7 day passes. I will have both season and 7 day passes with me and available at all times during the ride.

In answer to requests about room rates. The following should help answer the questions.

Sunday to thursday the room rates are $76.87 plus taxes(7%p.s.t. and &7% g.s.t.).Friday to saturday the rate is $82.37 plus taxes. This is based on two adults per room. You can add another adult to the room for $5.00 more plus taxes.

Their number is 1-204-268-9050. Remember to tell them you are with the yamaha ride so they can try to keep us all together.

Feel free to contact me if you need further information.

so many questions and so few answers.lol I can describe each route aproximately by using town names for reference points to give an idea of routes and areas. All eastern rides will be taking place east of the red river and south of the winnipeg river so we should be covering the south eastern area of the province quite well. I do not know exact milages untill there is snow on the ground so that some of us can go and confirm that the trails will be satisfactory and we will clock the distances at that time.Once this part of the preparation is done there may be slight changes in the proposed route to better enhance the experience for everyone taking the time to participate in this event.I should also be getting eastern manitoba trail maps within the next month or so and can mark proposed routes and mail them out to anyone who wants one and sends me a mailing adress.

For now the proposed routes are as follows:feb24th-leave beausejour and head east to seddons corner from there we will turn south and go southeast to elma from elma we will enter the whiteshell park and ride to rennie in the central area of the park.At this time it is not know for sure if we will take a run south to falcon lake and back or just turn north and travel through the park to seven sisters falls. From seven sisters there is a route that will take us west through some forest reserves back to beausejour. Feb 25th-leave beausejour and head straight north to stead from stead we will go northeast to pine falls at pine falls we will cross the river and ride what is known as the camp29 trail to bird lake.(this is a very long uncivilized stretch so be sure to be gassed up at pine falls). There should be gas at bird lake.at bird lake we will turn south and travel down to lac du bonnet from lac du bonnet we will ride an old rail bed to beausejour.Feb27th- beausejour north to grand beach where we will go onto lake winnipeg. At this point there is two options that could happen we could go noth on the lake to hecla island or go straight across the lake to gimli. Once on the west side of the lake we will travel south to a trail that goes from the red river to libau from libau we will ride to the main trail and turn south to beausejour.Feb.28th has no confirmed ride schedule as of this date.I am working on some other things to make this a memoral trip for everyone but these plans have not yet been finalized yet.I will post changes as things progress.

There is also a question about if we will be breaking into groups because of the large turn out for this event. As we get closer to the date it may be neccessary to do this but at this time it is hoped we can still ride in one large group. It sure would be impressive to see a line of yamaha's as far as you could see.

I hope this answers at least some of the many questions you all have.
Feel free to contact me if you cannot find the answers you are looking for in this post or the one under manitoba ride survey.

Brian, I sure hope you meant memorable trip instead of memorial trip.

Regarding Hecla Island, only if the trail is groomed and marked. It wasn't last year and it took us 3 hours to cross on the day Lake Winnipeg was the coldest place on the planet. If it wasn't for Lakercr and his GPS, we would have been toast. As it was, Dukester got frost bite on his face. The advantage of Gimli is that it has a nice bar, is a good place to warm up, and the crossing is marked and groomed more often.

All the other aspects sound perfect. The trails in this area are some of the best, and the dual carriage way trail from Falcon Lake is very special.
