I have a 2006 Apex GT with 2400 miles.
Steering play either way is at least 1 inch each way.
It is to the point of affecting steering on straight runs at higher speeds.
Can you provide me with the process of wheer to start checking for worn or loose compoments within the steering assembly.
Sources of information.

I just noticed your post, since I was looking to fix mine too.
Start with the plastic A arm bushings. I am going to replace mine with the Ulmer racings metal ones.
Hopefully your bulkhead is not damaged, mine is worn a few mm's after the plastic bushing crapped out...

Loose Steering
Thanks for the comments.
I was able to find within the forum a good solution fix.
It appears even with new plastic bushings and the metal insertion there is still too much play.
I replaced the two of the three connections, but prior to installing, using emery cloth, standed the but joints and the ends of the metal insertions.
This tightened up the plastic bushing connections. Take some trial and error.
The issue is there is too much play at the bottom of the steering rod (handle bars) when moving side to side.
Not sure if this is design this way or if the metal hinge is worn out.
