just got out of the yammy shop for pre season. told me there was a coolant leak and fixed. also i knew the battery was dead and they said it checked out fine. now here we are in revelstoke. get it off the trailer, go to fire it up and battery almost dead. jumped it and it started finally. then notice the temp light on. took it for little burn around in the deeper snow to cool the coolers and light went out. stopped and let it idle while getting geared up and it died. question number 1: if battery is toast , being EFI will it die with not enough juice? and the coolant leak. noticed something dripping from pan cover underneath on the pto side ( right side looking from seat). tasted it and it tasted like antifreeze. any known issues with these sleds with waterpumps or leaks? not sure exactly what they fixed at dealer untill we get back home.
If you had to go into some powder to cool it down, even though the light went out, it was probably still pretty hot. It wouldn't take much time at an idle, not getting any snow across the coolers, for it to get hot enough to shut itself off. Is your fan turning on?
The coolant could be left over from the repair. There also could have been some air in the system. Did you check the coolant level to see if it was low?
If the battery is shorted, it can cause all kinds of weird problems

So far on my 06 with 12000 miles my only coolant leak was running boards...
My sled ran funny with a weak battery. Could be the stator too.

i thought about the leftover coolant. ill look tomorow at the levels. also im not sure this has a fan. new to us sled. if it did where would it be. ive had the airbox off and never seen a fan. any input would be great. it ran for about maybe 5 mins at idle when the light came on.
The fan is above your right foot well, on the front side of the radiator. You can see it with the right side panel removed.
The light comes on when you first start it, it lets you know the sled isn't warm enough to ride. If you started to ride it before the light went out, it's possible you fouled a plug and that's why it stalled. Next time you start it, look for the light to see if it's on and don't touch the throttle until the light goes out. These sleds foul plugs fast if you give some throttle before the light goes out. Also don't shut it off until your heat exchangers are pretty warm.
