Just spent last 4 days riding in michigan. If I am running the sled hard 70-80 mph the temperature on the sled will start rising I have digitial temp gauge installed. If I am running in woods at a steady pace the sled temp is fine what is normal operating temp?

I purchased sled used last year so thinking to.change antifreeze and check.thermostate if operating correctl. May even purchase rear exchanger for. More cooling. If anybody has any other ideas the help.would.be appreciated.

Here are a few mods that I have installed.
Full excell exhauste
Pcv with ignition module
Ulmer airbox mod and clutching
Cobra track

rear cooler will drop average temp 10-15 degree f. Even with a rear cooler on my 07 attak, 180- 190f is pretty common. really not unusual to even see 200f + at times. I was over 200f most of the time before the rear cooler install.

Thanks for the info. Did any of you change coolant before installing rear exhanger to see if that would help?

I had a similar problem. I completely emptied the old coolant and filled with new. Once I got all of the air out it has been fine ever since. I also had my rear crossover tube wear through on the tunnel which caused a slow leak. Just wish it was easier to check the coolant trailside, but at least you can with a couple tools.

Yea cooler is the way. I had to add one to mine when new...Easy to put on.
If you have studs you'll have to add protection over the cooler I believe. That's a whole other story..

first be sure you have 50/50 in the tank if not it will run hotter. if that dont cool it off enuff then add rear cooler. most have found that the 50/50 was enuff.

Draining coolant is first thing I am doing.

Put the rear cooler on. It not only cools better on low snow conditions and warmer temps, it also eliminates ice build up at the rear. I have two 2006 136" Attaks and installed the Yamaha rear cooler. It is bigger than the standard Apex cooler and fits nice. I am not studded so I just cut the tunnel protectors off at the rear to give me enough room for the cooler and about an 1/8" gap.

I was going to cut off stud protectors from tunnel but didn't should of. This summer will.do that along with rear heat exchanger.
