2007 Apex Heated Shield Question

I have a 2007 Yamaha Apex and I dont know if my heated shield may not be working or if it is the sled. I bought a LED light to put in the helmet so I can tell when it is getting power, but the thing flashes on and off. Is that normal/ Should I just try testing it with a test light. The LED light just pulses on and off and keeps doing that. No other electrical issues at all. I just noticed my buddy had this cheapo helmet and his has an LED at the corner of the shield letting you know it is on and I thought it was a great idea.

Did you purchase a flashing led or a normal led??
A simple 12 volt test light will confirm whether you have power at the plug.
